Cakediva1 Posted January 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2016 Boarded a little while ago! Beautiful but small ship. Arrived around 10:15 am and walked right through security and straight to the check in desk. Took all of 5 minutes! After a 15 min wait I was boarding the ship and sipping champagne. Nice crowd. Young, older and middle age (That would be me). Went straight to the Oceanview Cafe and was eating a delicious lunch by 11am. I was upgraded by the upgrade fairy from an GTY interior to an ocean view room. Lovely! Oh yeah, this is my first time sailing Celebrity and my 11th cruise on various other lines. I'm sailing solo. I'll let you know how the dining arrangements are in the MDR along with pics of the dailies. It is raining but praying for sun!

Cakediva1 Posted January 30, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted January 30, 2016 The food in the MDR was hit or miss. Had better luck in the buffet. Last night I ordered room service from the MDR menu. The food came quick and it was hot. My steak was not cooked as I ordered but I dont get upset over small things like that. I had breakfast in the MDR this morning and it was wonderful. Due to high winds, we could not tender at Coco Cay. No surprise there. We instead got to dock in NASSAU! Nice surprise. The rain went away but it was windy. Note to self. I will never cruise in January. Too cool for my liking. The casino was small and had outdated games but I did win a few hundred bucks! (I was smart enough to cash out and keep the money...ok ok I kept half of it lol) The Captain Nemo slot machine was HOT! Just thought I will pass that along and share the wealth. I am now sitting waiting to disembark. NIGHTMARE. People waiting everywhere. Luckily my plane doesn't leave until late this afternoon. I'm going to take a taxi to Las Olas Blvd for lunch and light shopping before my flight. OK the line is moving so gotta go. Any questions ask away! Sorry the weather has been bad for you. We've cruised at this time in the Carib many times and had lovely weather almost every time luckily, but Feb is a better bet. We will be on the Connie in Feb and now I plan to spend some quality time with Captain Nemo :D - thanks for the tip!

I'm not sure I have ever heard the Constellation referred to as a small ship  LOL I'm glad Nassau worked out, some where wondering beforehand what would happen on a 2 day cruise if Coco Cay was missed. Hobbsey Posted January 30, 2016 #17 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Very much looking forward to your impressions. We will be on her in just over a week. Hi We just debarked on Thursday from the 5 day cruise. Great, classy, quiet ship. This is one of the best natured crews I have sailed with - GREAT ATTITUDES AND SERVICE LEVELS. My review was just posted this morning. What itinerary are you cruising? Let me know if you have specific questions.

I asked, and received< a mattress topper and suddenly had a full nights sleep. The service staff on Connie is amazingly friendly and helpful. I'm glad you experienced the same. I heard that they made some changes and that now you can't charge your OBC for cash to gamble. I am told they give you a promo code. I am really trying to understand this so I know how much money to bring. For instance, if I decide I want to use $100 to gamble with and I take a promo credit on my OBC then if I lose the $100. it will deduct the $100 from my OBC but then if I win, they only pay me the winnings over the original $100. Is that right?

This is one of the best natured crews I have sailed with - GREAT ATTITUDES AND SERVICE LEVELS. My review was just posted this morning. What itinerary are you cruising? Let me know if you have specific questions. I'm sailing on the her in March! First time on Celebrity. We are doing the 5 day~~Key West and Cozumel. How did you get to the ship? Do you know what time the Celebrity shuttle starts picking up from FLL? I am in a balcony cabin (not spa or concierge(?)), what are the restaurants we can't use and which ones do you think are worthwhile? I am Elite, are there any worthwhile perks that go with that? Thanks Edited February 10, 2016 by suzyed

Rare ghstudio Posted February 15, 2016 #25 Share Posted February 15, 2016 I heard that they made some changes and that now you can't charge your OBC for cash to gamble. Is that right? no....they won't give you cash, they will give you promotional chips. You bet with the promotional chips and if you lose, you obviously lose....if you win, they (are supposed to) replace the promotional chip with a real chip and pay you your winnings. If you take out $100 worth of promotional chips (charged to your On Board Account), they will charge your account $105. You have 10 $10 chips (example)...you go to the blackjack table and bet $10...you win, so now you have $90 in promotional chips and $20 in regular chips. You only have to make 10 $10 bets and you no longer have promotional chips...you've either lost them or they have been replaced with regular house chips. Hope this helps.
