Bob is right about the Florida Departures Board.

I post there often so I will give my recommendation.

A popular hotel that many people recommend, including myself, is the Embassy Suites on 17th street in Fort Lauderdale.

It includes a nice breakfast. It is close to the port and airport and it is in walking distance of many restaurants.

Welcome. My preference is the Marriott Renaissance on 17th St. It's close to restaurants, and walking distance t a wine store; I think it's Total Wine, but don't hold my feet to the fire over that. It's right across the street from a Wallgreens, and the entrance to the pier is right down the street - a short cab ride away.

Actually I don't think you could go wrong with anything on 17th. St.

This is our favorite place to stay when sailing out of FLL or POM.

Renaissance Cruise Port Hotel Ft. Lauderdale (free shuttle)

Gallery ONE (Doubletree by Hilton) on the intracoastal water way with a water taxi stand out back - this is great if you want to see some of Ft. Lauderdale before your cruise, also this hotel is a condo style hotel, so you get a suite with a full kitchen. It is next door to a shopping mall and Trulucks and across from a pharmacy.

We like the Renaissance ont 17th and also the Hyatt Place on 17th.

The last time we stayed at Embassy Suites on 17th was three years ago. It was a very good Hotwire win. The room was very dark and in need of a renovation. Elevators were slow as molasses.

We would not stay there if we had to pay the hotel's internet rate. I suspect that the rooms may have been upgraded/renovated by now.
