Don't be surprised if it doesn't help you with this site as it is an old style clunky forum.

It may not cover that sort of thing.

Essentially all of the little symbols that you click on when typing a post has a command to turn that effect on or off. Those commands are enclosed in square brackets. A slash / tells it to end that effect.

Here are some examples - I'll put a . in between the command characters so it doesn't trigger the effect.

If you want bold you put [.B.] before a word and [./.B] at the end of the word(s) you want bolded. Like this

[.COLOR.=."Red".][./.COLOR.] changes the colour of the words. Like this

[.QUOTE.] and [./.QUOTE] goes around a quote from another post and that is done automatically when you click on the Quote button.

[.IMG.] tells the sofware that what follows next should be displayed as and image.

[.URL.] tells it that what follows is a link to another webpage.

Each command must be paired. If you miss either the start command or the end command that effect doesn't work, and that's where people go wrong as they inadvertantly delete, or don't copy, some of those command words.

There you go, a quick guide to webpage effects.

While we are on the subject of thumbs up and down let me say that if we'd had them your honesty would have earned a thumbs up from me. I'm one of those oldies, but with a difference, I don't mind how you choose to lead your life.
My tip is, and I think you already employ it, Don't take shirt (sp) from anyone.;)

Thank-you and and for the record i love my oldies.I genuinely dislike anyone who shows dis-respect regardless of age, creed, inclination.i want to relate a story from our last cruise.
Every morning a elderly couple would come up for a swim(9ish),it was obvious that the lady had had a stroke, her husband would hold her hand and they would walk everywhere(melts my heart),with a bit of diffuculty. Now after their swim she would sit down,in the sun and be quite out of breath, and he would go off and return 15 mins later and presumably go to their cabin.I noticed she was always in the sun,so from that day on,whenever
i was there(most mornings)i made sure she had a seat in the shade, and gave her a glass of water.no big deal,no accolades needed, its a human thing. What infuriated me was the people around, just ignored her like she was some sort of sub-being(and yes most were oldies),i would watch people push and barge past them, through doorways.(bloody disgusting).I have read and seen people mock and complain about wheelchairs and scooters, get a life one day these mockers may need one.We open doors for them, step out of elevators so they can get in,hell were in no rush, the pool wont empty, the bar dosent close, food wont run out.We actually convinced one of them to come up to the oasis bar,for a damn good knees-up,and we have on video the welcome from other patrons and barman which was set-up,they were chuffed, couldn't believe it,they said they wouldn't venture back there, its to hard.Well not on my watch. We had a lady who was 83 who would dance with our crew in the arvos and sit up at the bar with us,one of the guys always escorted her back to her cabin, which was forward in the bowels of the ship. What was our crew, well they had a lgbti(sounds like a subway sandwich) meeting at 4 most arvos and sail away parties.Well ya know what 1/4 way into the cruise we had 50-60 people up there as well as the cruise director(Billy London)who would emerge from somewhere and make sure things were good. And ya know what there were only 6 lgbti people out of that 60,and we had the best time, and made lots of friends.DJ Delittie was awesome and helped us set up a sound system for when he wasent there.Oh and by the way the people who just watched and stared and did nothing for this old couple received the death stare, nothing else, and the death-stare is not pretty(lol) Edited by mrs and mrs

Growing up with a good mate next door who had Cerebral Palsy, and having lived and worked in the Philippines for quite a few years took any grandiose self opiniated ideas out of my head I can tell you.

there ya go a new thread called grats on QM2,they call themselves cunarders,oh im not even going to play with that word. They even have a moderator that pitches in.mmmh much safer to stay down here with the colonials.Underwaiters,stewarts,cabin-boys."The various home countries from where the crew originate are no longer part of the Empire".:eek:even Star Wars gets a mention. The empire i mean really, grinding my teeth trying to hold back, ahhhhhhhhh to late im going to do it lol:eek:

Personally I dont see the issue, leave the autos on, pay extra IF you won't. Follow the dress code, how hard is it, and many people say I'm a bit of a rebel.

So as long as others agree with you they are correct and no issue. But if the opposite then they are wrong and you are right..... Thank you for clearing things up....
