Is the bagel and lox off a menu or buffet in the MDR? Of all the cruises we've taken, we've never eaten breakfast in the MDR. It's always been room service or the main buffet area on any ship.

Thanks for the reports. We sail in 59 days!!!!!

Our experience has been that it's available on request.

Honestly, we have no plans on returning to the Windjammer. And there are so many options, we do not feel like it's a big deal. The salmon is on the menu. The MDR also has a breakfast buffet. We are doing both (don't judge! LOL). Wipeout Cafe also does omelettes to order, and since salmon is an option in the omelette, I am sure they have it on request, too. We have not eaten there yet, but it has outside tables and we like that option. I was afraid the MDR would feel stuffy, but we went there in beachwear and it was very comfortable and relaxed. Plenty of window tables are available.

For what it's worth, I was at the Windjammer on oasis this morning for breakfast. I noticed salmon in the Windjammer as well. It was at the same counter as the eggs that were ready to go. There was mackerel as well. This was all by the fried eggs and omelettes in the windjammer

Not planning on turning this into a full blown review, but have some time and want to share a few observations while they are fresh in my head. We are currently enjoying the Western Caribbean on Oasis with friends who have never cruised before. The ship is absolutely amazing, but must admit that a few things are not going as expected.

Check-in could not have been easier. Parking at the pier was super fast. The porters were friendly. The folks at the counter were great. After that, we waited until almost Noon before they boarded. That was OK, but the people around the waiting area acted more put out and like their job was crowd control more than representing RCI. They weren't horrible, but smiling and acting a little excited for the people would have been nice.

After boarding, we went to Solarium Bistro for lunch. It is never crowded there and it was our favorite breakfast spot on Allure. The mix is healthy and plentiful, but I could see the selection was less than past cruises. The following morning, we went back for breakfast and the first thing I noticed is that they no longer offer smoked salmon. That really sucked, because I look forward to that. Today we went to the Windjammer for breakfast, and the selection there sucked, too. They weren't even making omelettes. And the scrambled eggs aren't even real eggs, but this yellow, gross textured thing. I have never had to circle like a vulture looking for something decent to eat at a buffet before. Tomorrow we're going to try the main dining room.

Dinner Night 1 was in the Main Dining Room. The meal and service were excellent. Last night, we were supposed to eat in Izumi, but the menu changed since we were last there and there was nothing my husband could eat. They only offered Sushi and Sashimi, and he won't do it. The last time we went the menu had a wonderful steak teriyaki option. Our server just shrugged it off like she is accustomed to people leaving. Back to the Main Dining Room. We had the same waiter as the night before, and he was great (Frank: American Icon, Deck 3). Luckily, dinner was wonderful.

Entertainment on Oasis is phenomenal. The first night we saw Oasis Of Dreams at the Aqua Theater. It was PHENOMENAL. And last night was Cats. I do not like Cats, but the performers were outstanding. They were way better than the show they were in. After the Intermission, about half the audience bailed, and I think that's really rude to the performers. We got to the Aqua Theater 45 minutes before the show. By 30 minutes out, no good seats remained. Cats was not as bad, but definitely feel more crowded on this cruise than previous ones. People waiting for standby had no idea where to wait. Nobody gave any direction.

Our cabin steward, Seymour, is very attentive and friendly. He wouldn't empty the mini fridge, but he's on top of the room.

We are using Voom, and it is fast and good. If you want to switch between devices, you need to go to LogOff.com to log out of the one device before logging on with the other. This wasn't immediately shared with us and we had to figure out how to go between iPhones and Macbooks.

So far, the poor quality of the food and diminished selection at the buffets has been my biggest bitch. Hoping the Main Dining Room has smoked salmon tomorrow! :-D

Thank you very much and please everyone continue with your on board and past experience reporting.

We are boarding Nov 20 2016 for the Thanksgiving cruise. It will be our 2nd Royal Caribbean and 1st Oasis cruise. We will have 6 "never been on a cruise" family members with us. We will use all of the ideas our cruise critic friends have to help plan and understand what needs to be done before we sail AND any info about eating, shows, entertainment, rooms, locations and so on.

Thanking you in advance.

OK, so we went back to the Windjammer today and there was tons of salmon. In fact, we all thought breakfast was phenomenal. So EGG on my face!

Chops last night was good, but as others have reported, not as good as it has been. We had an incredible waitress on Freedom, so expectations were way high. The filet mignon was excellent, though.

Tonight in the Main Dining Room they brought my husband duck, because he loved it the other night. The Waiter, Frank, was simply amazing. Frank showed us the new menu. Duck has been replaced with half roasted chicken.

Our cabin steward put balloons and a card in our cabin for my husband's Birthday. What a nice touch. He also sought him out to wish him a happy birthday.

Did you say " New Menu" ? Are there any other changes you have heard about? Do you know when this new menu will start? We are sailing in 29 day, and I am really going to miss the duck.

The change is immediate. We only heard about it, because my husband asked if he could get it again another night. But will this be permanent? Remember, I did not get salmon one day and went into freakout mode! LOL

Which seating were you for dinner? We'll be 6pm traditional in June, and I sure would be happy to get Frank as a waiter. Sounds like he's a holdover from the time of great MDR waiters.

New Menus?!! Please pump Frank for as many details as possible!!

I won't miss the duck - but I'm crossing my fingers that they bring back the scallops and risotto. Was always my favorite dish and I was majorly disappointed when they took it off the MDR menu.

Used to love the escargot appetizer. However this year I was very disappointed with this dish on both the Oasis and Adventure OTS. Seems to me that they have changed the recipe. Overall food was great on both ships.
