LIVE from our first Silhouette Transatlantic! Are we the youngest on the ship???

The Azores did look quite beautiful. This morning it was a gorgeous site to sail in and such calm seas.

Last night we were in Murano with our friends from Sweden and our new friends from London. It was a great dinner. We started with a cheese plate, followed by the salmon and crab parfait and the chateaubriand for two. Others at the table had the Dover sole and the Venison. All looked good.

Hopefully the above link uploaded the video properly!

I heard mixed reviews about the production show last night, but overall the consensus was that it was better than the first. We are slowly getting better.

We spent some time in the casino yesterday. Won some, lost some. I've been good and have avoided the tables thus far. I've stuck to my Uspin slot machine.

Yesterday the ocean view cafe was a buzz. Fish and chips were on the menu. Edward tried them and liked them but I suppose I really should ask my British friends their opinions.

Approaching Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal ... estimated arrival in less than two hours.

10 points earned! Thanks for posting the photos! It was very cool to see the photos of us!

Even with this unscheduled stop we will still arrive in Lisbon on time.

OMG, am loving this review and the pics and video...thank you! Am doing our first Celebrity and first Transatlantic from Rome to Ft. Lauderdale in November, so this is super entertaining and informative!

Would love more food pics :)

Now that you're in a few days, do you feel like you're getting your money's worth out of the drink package?

Yes, definitely feel like we are getting our money's worth on the drink package. I'll typically have a few screwdrivers in the late morning and a bottle of Pellegrino. Then I'll have a martini or two before dinner and a bottle of Pellegrino. Some wine with dinner, then a couple drinks after dinner with yet again another Pellegrino. So added all up we are exceeding the $65 a day pp. We also enjoy the specialty coffees and teas too. however my favorite aspect of the drink package is simply having a fixed cost. I know exactly what my cruise will cost.

I'm taking your advice on the food pics. I'll start taking more tonight. I just posted a food video of our table at Murano last night. Here is the desert sampler for two.

Hi Guys,

Is there any more info on Sushi on 5 or whatever they are calling it? Will it be all Sushi?

By the way when you guys sell into Lisbon enjoy going under the bridge on the way in! Be up top on deck when that happens. Great town and country!

We've moved from Martini Bar to Ensemble lounge. Enjoying the sounds of Ray Brown Jr and jazz. He's fantastic.

We have also been on a cruise with Ray Brown Jr. and thought he was the best entertainment ever on a cruise. I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, because he doesn't talk about it, but he is Ella Fitzgerald's (and Ray Brown's) son!

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for all your words, pics and vids.

I hope the person with the medical emergency is doing ok and will recover quickly!

I've got a question regarding dinner (in case you do dinner at MDR):

I've understood that it is now 3 course (when it was 4 course previously).

Could you please give an estimate how long it takes from the moment when you sit down at your table until you leave the MDR?

Would be good for me to know, because for our upcoming cruise, we have late seating (8:45pm), and we are traveling with our 4 year old daughter, so I'm not sure she'll manage to stay up that late.

Many thanks & regards,

Steph

I would request 'Select' dining now, then you can choose the time you want to dine from 17.30- 20.45.

If there is a 'wait list' give the reason you want to change being your 4 year old, as dining can take up to 2 hrs, depending on how many tables your waiter has to serve.

Slightly rough seas today but not too bad. We've had incredible weather until today. It was a little fun to have some waves for a change. Tomorrow is Lisbon Portugal. We are looking forward to it. We are purchasing the shuttle for $8 to get into town and it runs every 30 minutes. Hopefully the weather will be dry tomorrow.

I have some more food photos I'll upload shortly. Hope you'll enjoy. Tonight is Murano again :)

Hi Paul,

Really do enjoy your posts and followed your B2B closely. Remembering you sailed in a Sky Suite during the first part of that B2B, do you have an opinion on the value of the UDP if you have a Sky Suite? We are sailing Reflection in August for 11 days in the Med, Sky Suite, and I am debating it. Know we will have Luminae at our disposal and we do love it.

Thanks for the great report!

HI - Thanks for a really entertaining thread. Re docking at Lisbon. When we were on X a few years ago we were told that the ship would be docking out of town and would require the shuttle but the Captain managed to dock in town - 5 minutes walk off the ship into town. Passengers who had pre bought the shuttle tickets managed to get a refund if they asked at reception. Enjoy Lisbon.

Hi Jackie,

Thanks for your reply! :)

We asked for a table in a quiet corner away from the center, in order not to disturb other people, but if I understood correctly, with Select Dining, we cannot have the same table each day.

Well, we'll be fine (in the worst case, we will take turns to go to the buffet and back to the stateroom with her, as we are 4 adults)

Sorry for having used your thread for this, Paul!

Enjoy Lisbon!!
