tbmrt Posted July 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I recently came across this info in an old blog: the only drinks served at the Rising Tide Bar is champagne and juice, to avoid the need for a fully stocked bar, but we believe it’s also designed to keep folks moving without settling in for the day. Is this drink info still correct? Also, is the "rule" one ride up and back down and then get off? If so, I take it that we bring unfinished drink out with us? OR can we stay in Rising Tide Bar longer to finish our drinks there?
Clarea Posted July 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2016 They had a full bar and no ride limits on our Oasis cruise last September.
Rare Captain Funtime Posted July 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2016 On Allure in April full bar and you could ride up and down as much as you liked. Was "closed" for a private function on evening.
Rare xpcdoojk Posted July 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Agree, with Bob (who doesn't). We were able to ride it as long as we wanted and drink pretty much anything offered anywhere else on the ship. JC
matj2000 Posted July 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I am curious where you are getting all this false information. They have pretty much full bar service. You can stay on the thing as long as you like during operating hours. I really doubt someone wants to be on it all day, it's not that exciting... Hidden Minnie Posted July 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 7, 2016 There is a full bar on the Rising Tide on Allure...BUT they were not able to do frozen drinks. No ride limit. They did sell "VIP section" seats the night of the 70's party....
tutzig Posted July 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Just got off of the Oasis in June.. There is no limit, or anyone pushing anyone off.. Most rode it either one way, or both ways and got off.. We got wine and Beer, so do not know about any drink limitations.
Rare Captain Funtime Posted July 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Call me crazy :D I picked our April Allure cruise after seeing a video of the Rising Tide on YouTube. It seemed like it would be fun and I was not disappointed. It was great for people watching. I think I liked the Trellis Bar the best. :D
RFerrington Posted July 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 7, 2016 No limit on riding but I will say that the seats on the RTB are THE most uncomfortable chairs on the entire ship. Endless riding is unlikely for that reason.

Endless riding is unlikely for that reason. This... Good for a quick stop through for the atmosphere, then go someplace where that you don't feel like you are perched on a the end of a 4x4. My wife and I got a good laugh out of it cuz it has to be intentional or you'd never be able to jam your way in there.
TravelerThom Posted July 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 7, 2016 ...You can stay on the thing as long as you like during operating hours... But "as long as you like" assumes you want to leave when the sucker is stopped. You can't leave when it is rising or falling, but unlike the Hotel California it is possible to leave at scheduled stops:D
Pmorton3360 Posted July 7, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I believe on the Harmony it is a Champagne bar. Haven't seen any reviews of what is available.

depplep Posted July 7, 2016 #17 Share Posted July 7, 2016 The wait staff was so unforgivably rude on our cruise that I wanted to get off before it stopped. Seemed to have a full bar. I know I had champagne and my husband would have had rum for sure.
fluffysue Posted July 7, 2016 #18 Share Posted July 7, 2016 As long as you like, as long as it's operating. Lol. It seemed to be closed most of the times I passed it on Oasis, although granted, that was awhile ago.
desperate mouse wife Posted July 11, 2016 #19 Share Posted July 11, 2016 If my husband and I wanted to have a drink on the rising bar, would we be able to bring our 12 year old son on it with us (there are only the three of us- I don't want to leave him alone!!)? I know that he would like to sit on it going up and down at least once. I of course wouldn't let him belly up to the bar, but sit on a side where he can watch it go? Thanks

ThanksDespite the people who will tell you there should be no children in the ship bars, YES, you are allowed to bring him. I think it runs every half hour (maybe 20 minutes slowly rising or falling, and 10 minutes letting people on and off); so many find a one way trip long enough - but you are welcome to stay on for the return.
