We are doing the summit in august where we dock in Bermuda for 3 days...will the casino be open at night while we are in Bermuda or will it be closed for 3 days?

Since Celebrity has paid for the permit needed to open the casino on the Summit, the casino will be open from 9PM -5AM.

We were on the Summit last week. I checked the dailies and it opened at 9:00PM until late.

Try typing "are cruise ship casinos open in bermuda" into Google.

This was certainly an unnecessary comment!

I thought this forum is for people to ask questions and get informed answers.

If we all just googled our inquiries, there would be no need to have CC.

Since 2013, Cruise ships visiting Bermuda can now keep their casinos open at night while in port. The Cruise Ship (Casino) Act 2013 permits onboard casinos to operate between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Certainly CC is useful as a place to ask questions and get informed answers and some inquiries can be more difficult to do in Google than to ask the question on CC. However, if you can get your answer in less than 1 minute (actually 25 seconds - I timed it) by typing 7 words into Google, it is a lot easier and more efficient to do than to have to log into CC, go onto the the appropriate board, type a longer than 7 word message, and then having to come back to see if anyone has answered the question.

There are inquiries that Google is good for and inquiries that a board such as CC is good for. This was one that Google was better for.

Actually its not because if you google it you get entries saying Casino's are open, may be open, are being considered, etc. Not more efficient because of Bermuda's history with the casinos.

Thank you everyone for your responses. And thank you for letting me know I could "google" my question. I could have also contacted celebrity or simply waited until my cruise. However, the main reason why i choose to post my questions here is for the interaction and excitement between other cruise critic members. Like most people here, I get obsessed with my cruise and since my husband is sick of hearing about it, i choose to talk about it with this community. So thank you for you instructions on how to google something...maybe ill use it one day...

Ask away. If anyone cares not to answer that's their prerogative. Sometimes when you do google for something you get 20 responses that may go back to the stone age whereas if someone on CC responds they may have a more current answer.

To many, including my DW and me, thinking about and talking about a future cruise is part of the entire deal, so go on and ignore those who think only google or search should be used because if that was so 99% of what goes on each day would be unnecessary as it deals with topics that have been answered more times than Carter has pills or the information is clearly available on the Cruise line's website.

P.S. And YES as of MAY this year we were able to spend every night in the casino, whether we were docked at the Naval Dockyard or at sea.

My mother and I cruise annually to Bermuda on the Summit. The answers you received here are correct.

However, please note that often answers you get on this board are not correct. It isn't malicious, but still.. you can not count on them.

Some people don't understand the question as intended, others speak to their experiences from long ago and make the assumption either nothing has changed or there are no differences between ships. So look at these boards more as a guideline or "heads up" type thing, not as authoritative.

As to the Google search....well, unfortunately there are snarky sarcastic members on every board.

Not true... Google does not provide snarky replies;)

This is great! I didn't know it would be open at night! How long have they been doing this?

Last time we went to Bermuda, the casino was closed the entire time. Nice to hear!

Shawn

I believe this is the third summer that the casino is open.
