99Cruiser Posted October 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2016 Due to a medical issue it helps to have a glass of milk prior to going to bed. Besides ordering room service is there another way to get a glass of milk late at night? Would it be possible to ask my cabin steward to put a glass in the fridge every night when he turns the bed down? Any advice would be great. GARDENone Posted October 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2016 You will need to order room service or assist yourself from the buffet. For reasons of food safety, stewards do not handle food service.

CruisinFinsUp Posted October 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2016 The ships we have been on the past few years no longer have cartons. They have pitchers in the morning and for other meals the waiters bring a glass of milk upon request. Room service or pick up a glass when you are heading back to your cabin and store in your fridge. This is the best idea. It helps to use one of the small pates as a lid for walking back to your room or you could transfer it into you own travel cup. Lucky TGO Posted October 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Carton from buffet, store in fridge. I don't think they have the little cartons of milk anymore. If you want milk your waiter will bring it to you in a glass in the HC. Tony
DRS/NC Posted October 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 7, 2016 I often get one at the IC coffee counter -- no charge. Did so last month on the Emerald & last year on the Star.
Thrak Posted October 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 7, 2016 I would suggest getting it from IC or the buffet and putting it in a sealable water bottle. That way you can put it in the refrigerator in your cabin.
skynight Posted October 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Carry on board one of those travel coffee mugs with lid. At breakfast, lunch or dinner ask for a few glasses of milk and pour it into the mug. Store the mug each day in your fridge. I do the same thing with juice which I sip all day and late night. USNUZULOOSE Posted October 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2016 No cartons of milk? That means no more chocolate milk....:(
shredie Posted October 7, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 7, 2016 Room service will bring you milk at any hour of the day. It comes in a glass (or a small pitcher) with plastic wrap over the top to prevent spilling. I sometimes get a second glass at breakfast to keep in the frige for later. caribill Posted October 8, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Do they have 1%?? It varies. Besides whole milk they will have one of the following: o 1% o 2% o skim No way to know in advance which one it will be.
victory2020 Posted October 8, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Keep in mind that the refrigerators in your room are not very cold, so don't leave it in there for an extended period of time. It's also left out at the lido at the beverage station so who knows how cold it is there. My husband has a refrigeration company & loves milk but will not drink it on Princess due to the temperature issue.
WupperAV Posted October 9, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 9, 2016 RCL had cartons in Feb. You ahve to ask in the buffet and they will bring whatever you need or a glass if they don't have cartons.

Sometimes they'll have small cartons of milk at the Horizontal Court at breakfast, if so grab one and take back. Or ask the head waiter he'll probably be able to get you a larger carton if you explain. It may even be worth an email to Soecial Needs, they might be able to arrange it in advance.
