JMO - this rather indistinguishable (flowing hair?) logo looks like the highly decorated NCL IKEA equipped ships. pablo222 Posted October 8, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 8, 2016 Royal Caribbean news? It had Royal in the name? A few years ago, there was a press release about some river cruise with princess in the vessel name. It was posted as princess cruises news. riclop Posted October 9, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Don't like it; but then I don't like the Royal Princess anyway, so no problem. It's the best Princess ship by far.
AdoraBelle Posted October 9, 2016 #18 Share Posted October 9, 2016 I like it a lot, but I haven't actually sailed on Princess yet, so I suppose my opinion is still that of an outsider. (I also don't mind the NCL art. The world is dreary and depressing, nothing wrong with bright and cheerful now and then.)
Micahs Grandad Posted October 9, 2016 #19 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Liked the ship when we sailed on her but dont care for this. Dont think we will cancel our upcoming cruise though:)
Brisbane41 Posted October 9, 2016 #20 Share Posted October 9, 2016 I really do not like it at all and do not think there is any need to waste money painting it on all the ships. If Princess really want to go in this direction then what is wrong with leaving the existing ships paint as it already is and phasing it in with all new ships being painted in this new way. That way it comes in slowly and does not ruin the look of the ships that people have known for years as their second home when they are on holidays. AdoraBelle Posted October 9, 2016 #21 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Isn't the Royal only a few years old?
candydane Posted October 9, 2016 #22 Share Posted October 9, 2016 I really like the look, at least in the photos. Adds color and distinguishes Princess ships from others. Thankfully not black and dreary like Holland America's "death ships".
spearmint Posted October 9, 2016 #23 Share Posted October 9, 2016 I saw photos of Majestic Princess and my first thought was that maybe it was a design meant for the Asian market since that is where she will sail. I am sorry to hear that they are adding it to other ships. At least it is not quite as tacky as Norwegian; they are really bad. There is no way that elegance can be indicated with such "fun" stuff plastered on the bow and down the sides. The powers-that-be must have decided that style isn't to be in their lexicon any more. But that doesn't fit, as Royal/Regal certainly have style and elegance in their piazzas, dining rooms and specialty restaurants. Their theatres are another matter, however.... DrivesLikeMario Posted October 9, 2016 #24 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Isn't the Royal only a few years old? Yes, but she just went in for refurb. and they added it. They'll be adding it to the others in time. I'm on the fence about it - it seems a little Carnival-esque and yet I do love the SeaWitch. I just wish it wasn't so large.
