Do Platinum guests get escorted to gangway on non tender islands?

Recommended Posts

Oh no no no!! Been working my booty off to make Diamond. I will be 41 days to go after next weeks cruise. I got to Plat the hard way and it would really stink if they put a level in between diamond and platinum if say they increased the days to Diamond. Ugh!

Chase the carrot my friend, keep chasing that carrot

I am 9 days away from Diamond and have a 6 day this weekend.

Ack on a change.

I have friends that got screwed the last time they played with the cut offs. I hope we all make it before they make changes again.

DW and I will move to Platinum on our next cruise in early January, 2017. I have been able to "snag" FTTF on all our cruises since it was made available and have already enjoyed some of the Platinum privileges--at a price, I might add. Furthermore, we like to rent Suites because of the extra room they afford (I am not a "crowd" person). I thought with turning Platinum; I would not be out the expense of FTTF and would have a little extra money to spend. CCL then proceeded to increase the TIPS per person, per cabin and away went my saving. I guess you cannot spend what you actually never had. To me the perks associated with Platinum level simply make a great cruise greater--nothing more.

Well one friend was close to being diamond. Back then it was the number of cruises not days sailed for the levels. She was one from the cut off,,,which was one from the one they said she needed to be diamond. They grandfathered so many in on the old requirement and then had cut off number and backwards who got swapped to days for their requirement. She was in that category. She had to sail a lot more days after that to get to diamond. That's what happens to the people on the edge of the cut offs.

To be fair, I think there was a time frame that they could book to get around the rules, but she had surgery and something else to keep her from making it. She made diamond a couple of years ago. I think it was 2014.

Heck at the platinum parties I have more days that some diamonds. Years ago lots of people took 3 day cruises and hopped levels easily, or so I was told.

Well if anyone meets my criteria that's on here, let me know. Have a feeling I'll be having to pay my own way for quite awhile!

On a serious note we had two people (of opposite gender) join our Med cruise group that were just acquainted and did a room together for the cost savings. Worked just fine. I asked them individually how awkward it was and they said it was a little so the first two days but fine there after.

Criteria:

1 - Have lot's of cash in US currency.

2 - Have a paper bag for their head so you don't have to see them and vice versa.

3 - More of #1.

:D:D:D

Just looked at the plat benefits and it say priority tender (ship to shore only). What does that mean? You only get priority getting off the ship not coming back?

Maybe they should make priority boarding a tender back to the ship a Diamond perk?
