hockeygal54 Posted November 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2016 We're boarding Sunday on the Regal in FLL. Taking my niece to the BVE. S she able to bring a bottle of wine aboard also? She's NOT sailing, just doing the BVE pre sail. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
VibeGuy Posted November 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Interesting question. Since a BVE boarding pass is indistinguishable from a regular boarding pass, I don't see how she'd be stopped from doing so.
hockeygal54 Posted November 11, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Pam from CA who is the guru of princess answers says YES she can but I'm looking for other opinions. I've never brought any wine until Feb cruise on Royal and they checked u off against a pax list hence my question. Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted November 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2016 What a great idea -- if it's a decent wine, the price savings will easily pay back the BVE cost!
janetz Posted November 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Yes. :) Our daughter and boyfriend did the BVE with us and each brought on a bottle of wine and left it with us. I was told this could be done by the woman I booked their BVE with. :) Edited November 11, 2016 by janetz

2pbears Posted November 11, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 11, 2016 We were told that each of our guests could bring on a bottle of wine. However, the fact is, the BVE people boarded so early that Princess did not yet have staff there to man the "wine table". We stood at the table for several minutes wondering what to do and finally a person from the Port Authority told us that "they weren't here yet so just go on in". We were prepared to pay corkage on additional bottles that we were bringing on board but there was no one there to process the corkage fees for us. We did take a few of the bottles to the dining room during the cruise but the corkage charges were hit and miss in the dining room.

One bottle per person. Security screeners have no idea if you are sailing or BVE. It's security that finds the wine and sends you to the "table". One bottle each and you fly through. Pam in CA Posted November 14, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 14, 2016 Security screeners have no idea if you are sailing or BVE. It's security that finds the wine and sends you to the "table". Actually, they do know as you have a big sticker on your clothing that says, "BVE." :) Regardless, even BVE passengers can each carry a bottle onboard. In Ft. Lauderdale, you go through security screening, and the liquor check before you check in, so you haven't received the sticker yet. However, at the liquor table, they have asked my cabin number and marked off my free bottles -- so they can charge me if I come back later with more. There is no princess policy on BVE guests bring liquor. No one has ever been able to post one. It's just something so small that no one really cares.
