Pet Posted November 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2016 If you are a little claustrophobic or just don’t need much sleep at night are you allowed to wander the ship with impunity in the hours when passengers are expected to be tucked up in their beds? Or will you be challenged by security staff if you sit out on open decks or try and enter other public areas normally closed until morning. Thanks
Ken at the beach Posted November 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2016 Wander away and enjoy the quietness.
cb at sea Posted November 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2016 Of course you can! The ship is like your hotel...not a jail!
spookwife Posted November 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2016 Not impunity as there will be areas closed off for cleaning and maintenance. Sent from my iPad using Forums

However security will stop and question the passenger if it's obvious their under 18 years of age and not with an adult.

Rare vacationlover_mn Posted November 12, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2016 I get up way too early, and have observed several others roaming around at 4am :). One of my favorite things to do is grab a coffee and head out to the back of the ship and watch the sun rise over the ocean :). I love sunrises at sea. But I'm really glad that 4000 other people aboard the ship don't feel the same way!:D

According to he/she history they have cruise before. Question was quite perplexing. Oh well what do I know. Biker19 Posted November 13, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2016 However security will stop and question the passenger if it's obvious their under 18 years of age and not with an adult. There are a number of older kids activities which end well after midnight - DD came home at 2AM one night (was 12) and was never questioned by anyone. On a typical ship with 3000+ folks, there's bound to be plenty of insomniacs about at all hours.
Freehike Posted November 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 14, 2016 The middle of the night / AM is my FAVORITE time on board a ship. Everyone except the crew and my fellow insomniacs are sleeping so it's really the perfect time to get pictures or do some exploring. COMBOY Posted November 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 14, 2016 I remember once the ship as so rockin I couldn't sleep so I got and wandered the ship around 3AM. It's really dead....sometimes not a soul. It's kind of creepy. But you might run into a crew member vacuuming or cleaning. In general most lounges are open and you can freely roam the open outside/pool and promenade decks. The disco is open late so depending upon the passengers it can be happening into weep hours of the night as well as the casino. The only thing usually locked up obliviously is the dining rooms & on board stores.
