luckyinpa Posted November 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2016 just curious if there's ever the opportunity to see the different types of rooms on board? other than seeing a steward prop open a door to clean and taking a 2 second peep. obviously there are tons of pics of every type of room online , but seeing it in person is different of course. basically id love to see an inside and OV. sad549s Posted November 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Think about joining your "roll call" as many times they organize a cabin crawl where you can see various types of rooms.
hamrag Posted November 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2016 We have done so on back to back cruises, when 95% of passengers are disembarking. We have never had Garden Villa or Haven, but were able to access these areas on changeover morning....awesome they are!

skeeter195 Posted November 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2016 Be one of the last ones to leave on the last day. The guest that have left their rooms will have their doors open and being cleaned. Just ask the steward if you can look around.

I have led a couple NCL cabin crawls (2x Breakaway and 1x Dawn) and based on doing these it led to knowing exactly the cabin I booked the next cruise! You also get to talk to the person in that room as to the pros \ cons first hand.
Da-Painter Posted November 23, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2016 On the last day of the cruise, when folks leave, they usually leave their cabin doors open, that's the time you can check them out. The room stewards usually don't care if you go inside.

eatdrinkfly Posted November 23, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2016 if you live in a port city, you can also just let your travel agent know that you're interested in a ship tour. they get the opportunity to bring clients/potential clients onboard for tours of the ship & rooms and lunch for certain sailings/cruise lines. retired rascal Posted November 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Had a great time on a cabin crawl on a Panama Canal cruise. People volunteered their cabins in advance. Enough people volunteered that there was at least one cabin for everything from insides to deluxe owners suites. The person who organized it picked one cabin of each type and figured out the best route through the ship to see them. She brought enough copies of the list of cabins and order to visit. Really fun. Although there were haven pax in the group, we didn't go to Haven cabins as it was too big a hassle to get ship's permission to access the secured area. Rare mking8288 Posted November 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 25, 2016 Another easy, digital option - prior to ever setting foot on a NCL ship to get a virtual feel for each type/category of cabin or stateroom, suite, etc. - as there are plenty online already ... it might not be specific to a number cabin in mine, but insides & oceanviews are typically very generic in nature >>> Youtube Some were done by pro's (TA's, etc.) for their marketing purposes - in addition to others loaded - had watched quite a few good ones, some time-lapsed with audio intro's & closed captions. Then, if there is an active Roll Call & the Cabin Crawl is/has been organized - go and see it in person.
