TeeRick Posted January 31, 2017 #26 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Just off Silhouette. A couple of tips to share. We had the Premium Beverage Package. This allows full size martini-type drinks in the Martini Bar. If you have the Classic you can get smaller sized martinis. With the Premium you can order most drinks at the World Class Bar although there are a couple that are $2-3 upcharge. Cellar Masters has a good selection of wines and you can get a card that allows self-dispensing. The real surprise is the really good Craft Beer selection in Cellar Masters. Much better than anywhere else on the ship. Go to Lawn Club Grill and order the recommended desert (warm Choc Chip Cookie with ice cream). Sunset Bar has a good selection of Scotch and premium beverages. There is a smoking section off to the Port side for anybody who enjoys scotch and cigars. Non-smokers can sit on the Starboard side and not be bothered by smoke. For the Super Bowl there will likely be a food and beverage set up in Celebrity Central where they have a large screen TV to watch the game. During the AFC and NFC championship Games last week, they had hot dogs, chicken wings, spring rolls, and Beer and Wine. The other option is to watch the game crowded around the bar in the casino. Canada17 Posted January 31, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 31, 2017 Wow! I had no idea. I love Cafe Al Bacio but never heard of an affogato. I had to google it! For anyone else like me who didn't know: An affogato is a coffee-based dessert. It usually takes the form of a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream topped or "drowned" with a shot of hot espresso. Is it available with classic or only premium - does someone know for sure? Affogatos are fabulous and they are covered under the Classic Drink Package. There's nothing better than having an affogato after coming back from a hot shore excursion. Also covered under the Classic Drink Package are "Igloos" and "Aspen Coffee", both are wonderful drinks available at Café al Bacio and are "must try". Enjoy

SeasideMemories Posted February 1, 2017 #34 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Cafe al Bacio Menu beverage menu that describes the different beverage choices including prices. Looks like all of the coffee/teas would fit the price point for the Classic Alcohol Package. beach spring Posted February 1, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 1, 2017 For future cruisers reading this thread who do NOT choose to purchase a beverage package, understand that you can also buy individual coffee drinks, or tea, at Cafe al Bacio, no package needed. Cafe Mocha was delicious as was the Venetian coffee, better than Starbucks'. And agree on the affogato, a must! Now, about those tantalizing pastries and cookies, yummo. Secondly, we really enjoyed the comedian Darrell Joyce, so I hope you will get to hear him. Tenors of Rock sounded terrific although I didn't quite get the reasoning of some of their choices for their "theme." The production shows were just that -- productions, with lots of energy and very upbeat and up-to-date music selections. Lights, smoke, frequent use of staging special effects. Not my first choice, and apparently not that of some others. I saw several "older" pax leaving. I stayed primarily because I wanted to see the spectacle and artistry of the trapeze artists. Wow! Be sure to attend the Top Chef at Sea event, which was in the smaller theater called Celebrity Central. Very entertaining!

Canada17 Posted February 1, 2017 #37 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Thank you for the suggestions - I'll be sure to try ! Someone had asked what an "Igloo" was. It's like a Frappuccino from Starbucks or an Ice Cappuccino from Tim Horton's if you're Canadian. Difficult to take an Affogato back to your cabin as its a scoop of gelato served in a martini glass, with a shot of expresso coffee and drizzled with chocolate. By the time you get it back to the cabin it will have all melted. However and Igloo can easily be taken back to the cabin and enjoyed on your balcony along with a nice pastry, cookie and/or slice of cake (free at Café al Bacio regardless of whether you have a drink package or not). Perfect "stop-gap" between the end of an excursion and heading to MDR for dinner.

TeeRick Posted February 1, 2017 #39 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Were there any wines in Cellar Masters covered by the premium package? Most but not all wines in Cellar Masters were covered entirely by the Premium Package (up to $14 per glass) and Craft Beers (up to $13). You just pay the difference if you want a more expensive selection. On the Classic Package you would pay the entire amount.
TeeRick Posted February 1, 2017 #40 Share Posted February 1, 2017 We also learned on the cruise that Silhouette won Celebrity Ship of the Year in 2016 (announced last week on board). This was from getting the consistently highest ratings on the post-cruise customer surveys.
cruiser2053 Posted February 1, 2017 #41 Share Posted February 1, 2017 We are taking our first celebritry cruise on the silhouette next January. We really enjoy getting up in the morning and having coffee on our balcony. Hows the room service coffee we have found on other cruise lines that's it usually not very good but then again some are hopefully celebrity is one of the good ones. Thanks Jeff

On the equinox last December, they didn't bake them on the day before the end of cruise. I was devastated [emoji15] Had I known, I would have had extra the day before!! craftymom914 Posted February 1, 2017 #46 Share Posted February 1, 2017 I just read on another thread that this only available with the Premium Beverage package- we only have the Classic :( Anyone know for sure? Just returned from the January 22nd sailing of the Silhouette. Had Classic Beverage Package and had no problem at the coffee bar. Only thing I couldn't get with classic package was at Martini Bar and limited options in Main Dining Room. Yet I could get the same drink in a bar and take it into the dining room. If you order at a bar with a classic package, they will make the drink work for that package - either smaller or with a lesser (not top shelf) quality liquor. Enjoy We are on the Silhouette in two weeks time (yaay!) My husband enjoys a coffee and separate brandy after his evening meal and found on our first Celebrity cruise on Reflection last year that the bars didn't offer coffee. Would this be an option in Café al Bacio as I notice that some of their speciality coffees have brandy in them ? TeeRick Posted February 2, 2017 #49 Share Posted February 2, 2017 On Silhouette there is a traditional Cafe Al Baccio on Deck 5 and a Cafe Al Baccio #2 in the Oceanview cafe. Also for just good old Lavazza coffee in the morning- if you want to avoid Oceanview Cafe- there is a coffee service (self-serve) in the Hideaway (deck 7) just off the elevators.
