Entertainment on the Grandeur

Recommended Posts

Quick question regarding entertainment on the Grandeur. We are sailing this summer and thus far it is the smallest ship we have been on. This is the first ship that I will be on that does not have "big shows". I'm concerned that there will not be a lot of night time activities. We like going to shows and are perfectly content sitting in a bar and listening to great live music. We do not like the casino so that's not an option. For anyone who has sailed on the Grandeur please tell me what you did at night for fun.

There are shows but not the huge productions you may be used to. My husband and I are not gamblers or drinkers so we usually do a bit of walking and people-watching followed by an in-room movie on a laptop. Probably not the kind of evening's Entertainment That you would be looking for.

Can anyone provide some examples of entertainment/shows? I know it's not the bigger productions, but I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect.

Production shows (singers/dancers/live orchestra), headliners (comedian, magician, juggler, ball twirlers, singers, tribute groups), Love & Marriage.

Grandeur has 2 cast production shows and on other evenings they have a headliner show..these acts vary from singers, comedians, jugglers, violinist, magicians etc...they have a guy on the piano in the schooner bar at night and also a live band in the centrum.hope this helps

We were pleaseantly surprised by how good the entertainment was on G for 12 night cruise January 2017.

5 different comics all funny, including late night show very funny, tango show very good, singers all good. We enjoyed everything about it. 3 different bands, one with steel drum, 50's party, 70's party, quest, Zumba, line dancing, aerobics class, stretch classes.

Bring a highlighter and try the classes, enjoy the ones you like.

We had been on the Anthem prior, also lots of activities, but their very costly shows put us to sleep, too long, not good. The Grandeur is wonderful from crew to fellow passengers.

It's been a couple years since we were on GOS, but I do recall the piano bar guy to be very good.. Good, not great singer, but an excellent pianist. Interacted well with his audience.

I've read that the aerial shows were not occurring lately. Riggers needed to be trained. I'll know for certain in about 2 weeks.

The Grandeur also has aerial shows in the Centrum - great fun!

Ariel show has NOT happened in months. My DH and I sailed 3 times in 18 months and the show was performed 1 time that we saw.

The man playing the Piano in the Schooner bar has also changed and is not nearly as good as the previous man. Not much interaction with the audience at all. :(

3 weeks ago there were no aerial shows. Alsonthe schooner bar had a lady playing every night. The cruise director was paul and he was also onngrandeur in feb 2016. There was something to do every night. Though the ship was pretty quiet at 11:30 every night. Although the viking crown lounge had a dj dance party every night past 11:30.

We would have dinner, watch the main show and then hang out in the centrum listening to the bands.
