Sorry...but I find advertising your C&A level ridiculous as well as wearing your gold SeaPass on a lanyard (always making sure it's seen). However for those that this makes them feel special....their choice...I prefer to keep a lower profile

Most of us prefer that.

Actually, I think a lot of people wear lanyards because it's an easy way to keep a card handy. Judging by the number of lost cards we've turned in (at least one per cruise) I'm guessing a lanyard is a pretty good idea. I don't always have a pocket or carry a bag. And do people really scope out the cards on lanyards?

I take it you aren't D+. For me, we just love to cruise and D+ happened along the way. And yes, I'll gladly accept 250 to 375 off my balcony, pictures, drinks, meals, and laundry without a charge. It's nice that we are afforded amenities for doing something we would do anyway.

Thanks for saying out loud what I was thinking [emoji6]

I bought several D+ pins off of EBAY to give out on Allure but forgot them.... Never seen a POLO shirt with a D+ logo. I am sure they do that so they can compete with the PC name tags.....

I hope concierges know that people misuse these pins ... how poor to try to be something you aren't ....

Nope, She Who Must Be Obeyed and I are both D+ and about halfway to the Pinochle Club. We like the amenities too, but we also are price conscious and through our big box warehouse club's travel department have expanded our cruise horizons to other lines. It's just that we cruise to be cruising and the so-called status symbols are not as important to us as some people who feel the need to tell everyone.

I have restored a couple of classic cars myself, but I see the big-checkbook guys buy a finished car and showing it off at car shows like they did something. All that tells me is they spent a lot of money to show off.

We wear our SeaPass cards on a lanyard for convenience. We have drink packages and Casino play and easier to hand off from a clip than from a pocket. I try to wear it under a shirt but if it shows, it is not because it is GOLD or PLUM color. Besides, I have a bad case of CRS and this way I can keep track of my SeaPass.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with anyone wearing whatever they want to. He is obviously proud of his accomplishment...and it is one. It's taken us 15 yrs to get to Diamond Plus (soon)...and as Internetwhiz says it just happens along the way, but it is an accomplishment. So it may mean nothing more than that, not "advertising" at all. Plenty of people wear custom Tshirts to make themselves standout or easily recognizable, as roll calls etc. If you take offense at a shirt like his wouldn't you have to consider the same for those? Lets be honest, any kind of customized shirt says "Look at me". Then to extrapolate further, how is it different from choices in dress, like fashion. Nope, nothing unusual about his logo shirt to me. It all goes back to basic psychology and the human need to "be one up". If it's not for you, don't sweat it...

That being said, we have never worn any of our pins, and I wear a wrist lanyard and DH wears his card on a retractable that one of the Voyager bartenders gave him years ago...for convenience only. Why would you be running around trying to look at other peoples seapasses:confused: anyways?

As for copyright infringement, there are several people on these boards who have logo tats, one has passed away but it was on her thigh and said "Loyal to Royal" along with the logo. Another one has it on her ankle. I would never get a tat anyway, but I don't censure people just because they do.

Hey, different strokes for different folks, whatever floats your boat, whatever melts your butter....etc etc.:p

I guess that's where the difference in opinion comes from. Personally, I don't see reaching a particular C&A level as an accomplishment. I look forward to being Diamond one day because of the balcony discount. But I won't feel as if I've 'accomplished' anything. Just that I now get a nice discount off my cruise fare and whatever other perks that come with it.

Those who feel it's an accomplishment are certainly entitled to feel that way.

OK picture this...."Woohoo, after 15 yrs and who knows how many dollars, we finally got the Diamond Plus perks!"... fits the definition of one to me:cool: We set out to get them all those cruises ago, and we finally accomplished it. Doesn't make us special, just paid our dues.

To be frank, that's YOUR problem, not the wearer of such items. You have no idea why anyone wears anything- you just ASSume.

I don't get why people feel that they have to judge others so harshly. Or why you even bother caring what others wear or do. Spend so much money and effort to go on vacation, and worry about others? What a waste of time.

Am I the only one that remembers a thread from a couple years ago about a gentleman who lost a suitcase full of "pinnacle shirts" after leaving it outside their stateroom on the last night of the cruise?

There was an entire thread devoted to what a pinnacle shirt was! Same idea - custom made by the man - not courtesy of Royal Caribbean!
