swanmark Posted March 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Hi guys, I have noticed with some drinks packages you are only allowed about 15 drinks, does this also apply to the ultimate Drinks package with Norwegian, I ask because I have not seen anything mentioned about this on the NCL site. Nope, no limit. I suppose though that if someone gets drunk and disorderly, then security would probably step in so no more drinks, at least then. traveler1980 Posted March 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2017 To clarify on limits though, does the person with the UBC have a limit they can get at a time? I think I saw maybe two drinks somewhere? I have heard waits can get long and may be interested in not waiting on the next round!

There is an unwritten rule that you can get 2 drinks. Use to be 1 at a time.

beerman2 Posted March 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2017 No limit but a 15.00 max on price of drink. If over the 15.00 you pay the difference + 18% gratuity extra. Ex:Chocolate Martini 🍸 is $17.95 you pay $2.95 +18%= $3.48 on your S&S card.

We did have a long wait the first cruise we took that offered the UBP a couple of times: one time was in the casino, at the bar and the other was the first day, by the pool. there were not that many people, but they only had 2 bar tenders and people were pushing and shoving. Otherwise we have never waited over a couple of minutes, regardless as to which bar we have used. Yes, you do have to wait between ordering drinks which makes sense. Otherwise you could be ordering for all your friends. :p:D

cb at sea Posted March 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2017 I believe Carnival is the only line with a limit on the drink package.
sanger727 Posted March 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted March 11, 2017 I was on the jade in Jan and we had no issue ordering 2 drinks at a time with 1 card... in fact even when we were both there they would only run one card so then we switched to taking turns getting rounds. Several bars did this with no issues. I believe it is actually a written rule - remember seeing it somewhere on Norwegians website. Outside of the bar closest to the buffet on embarkation day, we never ran into any waits at the bars for more than a few minutes Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Debala715 Posted March 11, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Don't think I can drink 15 in one day. We will see next week. I'm not a drinker, but I do have a very high tolerance, so on our first cruise we had the drinks package. I drank a painkiller about every 20 minutes from about 10 am till I went to bed, which was usually about 11 pm. I did not find the drinks strong at all. In fact, they were a bit on the weak side. I more than would have gotten my money's worth if I had paid for the package.

What watered down drinks - the sacrilege - the horror of it all - wasting water like that that could be charged an outrageous fee for simple consumption in a monopoly controlled market ! mdsgu Posted March 12, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Carnival limits you to 15 drinks in a 24 hour period -- but they only charge $49pppd (plus gratuity) and the dollar limit on each drink is now $50.
Mac4YYZ Posted March 12, 2017 #17 Share Posted March 12, 2017 It was amazing how a few bucks spread around here and there with the bartenders helped with service even when the bars were busy on my recent cruise on Escape. MCAT48 Posted March 12, 2017 #18 Share Posted March 12, 2017 They will not limit you although they should be limiting people. From my experience they over serve alcohol. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dekohman Posted March 12, 2017 #19 Share Posted March 12, 2017 We were on the Getaway last September...we had the Beverage Package but routinely tipped the bartenders $1/drink...By the second day they knew us and by the third day they'd see us in line and pour out drink. The lines weren't usually too long but this technique helped when they were! Sent from my XT1575 using Forums mobile app

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I found the pre-made drinks weak (comparable to what I would expect from a chain restaurant). The made to order drinks were similar to what I would get in a neighborhood bar. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
