Our Carnival Pride Repo Journeys Cruise (with pics) - 2/26/17

After the galley tour we were directed to the back of the upper level of the Normandie Restaurant for the Diamond Luncheon. Here, we are greeted by CD Steve…..

 

The Diamond Luncheon…..

 

Some nice classical violins to eat lunch by…..

 

Steve and Ken made the rounds and stopped at every table…..

 

Table # 423 was our table…..

Here is the special menu for the Diamond Luncheon…..

 

The wine was flowing the whole time…..

 

Both Patti and I chose the blue crab salad with candied citrus for our appetizers…..

 

For her main, Patti chose the duet of sea bass and Mahi Mahi……

 

I chose the charbroiled filet mignon…..

 

For dessert we had the raspberry dark chocolate pate…….

After the Luncheon we made our way to the casino for the first slot tournament of the cruise. Utilizing our BOGO entries, we gave it our best shot but did not qualify for the finals.

At 3pm it was time for our 2nd session of LCR, and today we have another big crowd on hand……

 

Here, our friend Kris is hoping for a good roll of the dice……

 

I need a lucky roll to win, but of course I didn’t get it…….

 

Here is today’s lucky winner with her bucket full of bucks. Congrats!!!

After LCR,we sat down and played cards for a while with our new friends Ken and Kris.Thanks for teaching us to play “golf”…….

We then went back to the cabin to relax for a while before dinner. We found that the laundry that Patti had sent out yesterday had been returned……

 

Attached to each bag were these cute little notes. We both smiled when we saw them……

Tonight we are eating dinner in David’s Steakhouse. We like to eat in the Steakhouse, if the ship has one, at least once a cruise. We were given a lovely table for two next to the window…..

 

The compliments of the Chef were a crab melt……..

 

The wonderful focaccia bread and the accompaniments…..

 

For her starter Patti chose the crab cake…..

I had two orders of the Portobello mushrooms for my starter……

 

We both had the Caesar salad which was made tableside…..

 

For her entrée Patti ordered the Maine lobster tails…….

 

I always order the 18 oz. spice rubbed ribeye cooked medium…….

 

For dessert tonight, I chose the chocolate sampler…….

Jamman, You mentioned that you received two orders are mushrooms as your app in the steakhouse. Are you able to order more than one without a charge? If so, can you mix and match? I.e. one crabcake and one Escargot? Also, is this in addition to you choosing a salad?

I have been doing a little homework on this. I do not have first hand experience with this, but it seems to me you can get seconds of anything BUT the "Main Course". Again do not quote me on this but it seems this way from what I have read.

Jamman, great review on your cruise I just wish it was the Splendor. Our Journeys cruise will be 14 days in Alaska in '18, only 500+ days to go:(.

I always order two appetizers at the Steakhouse without a problem. A second entrée will cost you $20, but I couldn't even eat a second entrée if I tried! :D

Thanks for reading!! The RFP is very busy in the evening because they have a live band in there just about every night. It's less crowded in the afternoon.

Maybe your cruise had too many Diamond pax to fit there. :confused: It was nice because the Captain and all the officers sat at a long table right next to us. Only problem was that the sun was shining thru the whale tail and I swear, I thought my hair was going to burn from the "solar heat." :o

Jeff can correct me but I think there were 143 diamond on our cruise. It was rare to see a blue or red card.
