;) I have never done a four-day cruise before. So I have two questions. Do they have a formal night? And do they have a Dr. Seuss breakfast? Thanks

4 day cruises are just a tease. By the time you learn the ship you are disembarking. 2 day, 3 day, and 4 day cruises consist of a majority of first time cruisers.

I'm sorry if this misses what you are after. Our first ever cruise was four days. I would never do it again because it doesn't allow a cruiser to immerse in "cruise culture" which is both heavenly and sublime... and...

Going on my 5th 4-day cruise next month on the INSPIRATION. I like them as a "sandwich" in between 7-day cruises. Enjoyed the BREEZE about 5 months ago, but for me this one has no air, no transfers, just a quick run to the port and jump on. Always nice to getaway to the sea for a few days, have a beer or two, and enjoy some great food. I'm sure there will be a lot of people just like me doing the cruise for the same reason. Every cruise is a great cruise. :)

3/4 day cruises are a weekend away. For us, not much different than going to Vegas, the River or the Desert. A Cruise is closer and (usually) a lot cheaper than any of those other options.

 

To answer the question, even the three day cruises can have the Seuss breakfast.

Yes, there is a CE night on the short cruises.

Looking forward to our first 4-day cruise this summer on the Imagination. We are off to the west coast to visit our son and we were looking about something to do for a few days prior to the visit. This cruise fit the bill perfectly! Can't wait!

This is what the hubby and I are thinking about doing in August. :) It's either San Diego and Disneyland, or a 4 day cruise and Disneyland. We'll be celebrating our 5 year anniversary (3 years married). :)

We are doing 3 nights at Universal and then a 4 night cruise next month. Will work perfectly for us. I get my Universal fix and then we can relax and enjoy a cruise!

Now that the port of Mobile is open and 3 heavenly hours from us we have done a few of the 4 or 5 day ones. I like being able to go and save the longer ones for family cruises. I like the short ones. At least I'm able to cruise even if it's not a 7 day one!

Yes, and Yes. We've done a few 3-4 days lately do to saving up time with only using 1-2 days (Thursday and Friday) for the weekend trip, which gives us more time for longer or extra vacations during the year. We do one or two longer cruises (7-8 nights) in the year. Shorter cruises are not a waste of time, if thats what you can do as far as time or budget. Since we're only 45 minutes from the pier, we enjoy the shorter weekend cruises, even if we've been to the Bahamas plenty of times before. With almost everything included, its the most bang for our buck!!!

Couldn't agree more!! We also save the longer cruises for family cruises, or special occasions. This year we have a family and friends group cruise in August for 8 days, and for two other celebrations, we decided to do a 3 day cruise, which we'll enjoy it just as if it was a 7/8 day getaway.

Luckily most fantasy class ships have a similar layout, so we enjoy doing a number of 4 and 5 day cruise on them.

Thank you for the reply's just for the record this will be my 26 to cruise with carnival although my first four day I am bringing two new coworkers with me who always wanted to cruise but weren't sure they would like it so this four day will just be a taste to see if they like the style of cruising it will also help me get to diamond so I don't have any complaints any cruise can be a good cruise.

That's exactly how I feel about the 3 day Long Beach sailing. From where I live Vegas is a 4 hour drive, Long Beach is an hour. Vegas would cost us a minimum of 2x as much depending on how much drinking/gambling is done. Vegas is just Vegas, but a 3 day cruise is Ensenada and a day on the water.

 

Now, would I fly to Florida for a 3-4 day cruise? Not unless I was doing a B2B or planning to visit something in the state. I wouldn't want to deal with flying 6 hours for 4 days.

 

But I have seriously considered picking up and moving to Florida to get a change of scenery for our weekend cruise getaways [emoji23]

Regardless of what anyone says, we LOVE the 3/4 day cruises. So much fun crammed into a weekend! A lot cheaper than Vegas for us! Usually do a 7 day and a 3/4 day every year. Some people take 10 day cruises and some people split them up. We split them up!

I use to think that it wasn't worth it to take a 3 or 4 day and only wanted to take 7 days or longer. Last fall several family members were going on a 4 day getaway and my sister & I got a casino deal that matched the cruise. We sailed the Paradise out of Tampa - a 30-45 minute drive for us. I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to book another 4 day - as a matter of fact we have a 5 day booked on the Paradise for June and then a 7 day on the Glory in September - both good casino deals.

 

We spend a lot of time in the casino and it is much cheaper (at least on a casino rate) to take a 4 day gambling cruise rather than spending even 2 days at the Hardrock Casino is Tampa. So, now I'm thinking it would be great to take at least one 3 - 5 day a year and think of it as a true casino cruise!
