Karen Lynn Posted April 10, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2017 As do I ..I think I was just wondering if weather was conducive on such a sailing. Appreciate the feedback!
Spursgirl Posted April 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Afraid the weather cannot be guaranteed in our fair country. July could be hot, warm, breezy, chilly or rainy. You won't have to worry about snow or fog though. LOL I would always select a balcony if possible - you may be lucky and enjoy glorious weather. excitedofharpenden Posted April 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2017 I think your last post gives you the answer. If you always get one then I think you'd be disappointed if you didn't this time. Also, it doesn't need to be glorious weather to sit out and watch it all go by. Get a balcony!
Karen Lynn Posted April 10, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted April 10, 2017 I already have the balcony booked ...I was second guessing it for some reason..but it would be a tough thing to step down from. Cruise isn't for 2+++ years but I'm set !!! Thanks again
Rare AllisonJames Posted April 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2017 We were on the British Isles cruise last year (with a balcony) and had such gorgeous weather I needed sunscreen :)!!! Enjoyed breakfast on our balcony and lots of time on deck. The year before it was really cold so of course you never know but we lucked out, it was so warm in London after the cruise I wish I had packed more summer clothes. I wish you the best of luck with the weather!
marinaro44 Posted April 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Furniture arrangement is better in a veranda. Desk and sitting area are near the slider to the veranda and the bed is near the bathroom. In an oceanview it's reversed, creating a bit of an obstacle course (coffee table) to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Before going to bed I just move it closer to the sofa. One think I like about the window cabin as opposed to a balcony is the bed is at the far end if the room where the sofa would be in a veranda room. The big window sill is also very useful space. But of course no balcony.
Karen Lynn Posted April 15, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) Okay - next question ... (s) DLX Club Verandah #8090 or #8093 (same on decks 6/7) Anyone had one of these aft staterooms? Noisy? Any rougher sailing? Best side for British Isles - thinking Starboard? Thank you!!!!:) Edited April 15, 2017 by Karen Lynn
upwarduk Posted April 15, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 15, 2017 I really don't think it matters which side your cabin is, as you won't be sailing close enough to the coast to get views. Ships don't always sail into ports bow first, they sometimes back in.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted April 15, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 15, 2017 Deck 7 will be the quietest, since there are cabins above and below. Have you checked the cabins thread at the top of the Azamara forum? http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1813056

Karen Lynn Posted April 15, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted April 15, 2017 Actually now I'm thinking port side...
Karen Lynn Posted April 15, 2017 Author #16 Share Posted April 15, 2017 there's a few of us going ...and some are in Club Continent Suites so those are only deck 8 and ideally - we'd like to be same deck
ccotting Posted April 30, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Actually now I'm thinking port side... We were port side when we did this cruise, we had a great view of the fireworks in Liverpool but otherwise it really didn't matter. Remember most of your sail always are in the evening. Often you are at dinner or having drinks. Sail in you might have some days where it is nice to look out.
