will76rocks Posted April 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Hello y'all, My wife and I are pretty giddy about the thought of the entire ship to ourselves on a port day. Who has done this before? Spa days, back to back to back waterslides, actually getting into the main pool, and sleep until noon....Any thought or tips?

Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted April 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Having much much less passengers on the ship, going for drinks and relaxing, you could get a spa treatment special rate, less lines for everything. On our next cruise on the Harmony of the Seas we are not getting off at all, and besides you also miss all the lines to get on and off the ship lol. OCruisers Posted April 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2017 While there are way less organized activities by the CD, there are some which may or may not be of interest to you. :)

There are always a few others to chat with if you want and the best thing is pick of lounge chair wherever you go! I rarely get off the ship anymore as I cruise to relax and find Port Days on the ship to be very relaxing and then fun as people return and chat about their day. ENJOY!! meatloafsfan Posted April 24, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2017 This is probably going to sound stupid but take a shower and shave your legs. It's so much easier when the ship isn't moving.
Rare ontheweb Posted April 24, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2017 You'll have much better odds of winning a SOAS in trivia competitions! LOL There was someone on our last Carnival cruise (Fascination last August) who never got off the ship. He ended up with somewhere around twenty of those ships on a stick. He was very good, but his total was padded by the ones he won when others like me were off exploring the ports. (I won three.)
FloridaMommyof3 Posted April 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2017 Trivia! I did this and literally played Trivia with a whole group at the Casino bar from 11:30 until 4:00. The cruise director and entertainment person did it with a group of about 10-20 of us (some coming and going) and we had a blast.
jaxx61 Posted April 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I don't think you can sleep in your cabin til noon. The steward will want to clean your room, and they get pretty testy when you don't get up and get out.
SkyMaster Posted April 24, 2017 #13 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I rarely leave the ship anymore on Caribbean cruises, and ALWAYS have a fantastic time. (Ship is the destination for me, so I could care less what ports we visit.) I enjoy the lack of lines, for everything, the availability of lounge chairs near the pools, the GREAT food with no wait, and of course, the activities with the cruise staff. I've actually gone to trivia, and been the only one there, so they just handed me the SOS with a big smile. TOTAL RELAXATION!

OCruisers Posted April 24, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 24, 2017 Once we had a stop in Nassau in January on a chilly-rainy-windy day. Very few people got off the ship. With no casino & shops open and no one wanting to be outside it was a CROWNED ship!

ABQrobin Posted April 25, 2017 #24 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Depends on the ship..... Magic = we went back to the ship for lunch at Amber Cove, did the Skycourse with no lines, then found the ship's coin.
The4Cruisers Posted April 25, 2017 #25 Share Posted April 25, 2017 The sad thing is our secret is getting out. We love to stay on the ship at some ports, especially Nassau and Freeport. It seems like more and more people are doing the same. Boo!!!! :D
