Hump?

This is probably stupid and never been discussed because it is so stupid, but I am bored at work and thinking about stupid things passes the time. Why are hump cabins called hump and not bulge cabins.

 

Shouldn't a hump be vertical and a bulge be horizontal?

 

See, I told you it was stupid and really not worth the energy it took to type it. But again, bored and want to cruise.
