Clarea Posted August 14, 2017 #76 Share Posted August 14, 2017 I was on a 12 night cruise on Vision last month and on day 2 they started offering the drink card. $79 for 10 drinks. I've never seen the drink card offered so early on a cruise. Good deal though. Guessing that they didn't get the drink package sales they were hoping for. shofer Posted August 15, 2017 #80 Share Posted August 15, 2017 We paid $56 for 2 @ Giovanni's. It was delicious. Although it irks me to pay for the food you would have received for free years ago. Sue

TahoeLady Posted September 6, 2017 #82 Share Posted September 6, 2017 We are on the Vision now and end our 27 days tomorrow. The staff on the ship are outstanding. The food is just ok and the desserts are horrible which is probably a good thing. The cakes are too dry to eat and the baked alaska had soupy melted ice cream under the meringue. On sea days the enrichment lectures are at 9 and 10 in the morning which is ridiculous as there are none the rest of the day and you are barely up, and exercised or had breakfast. Didn't matter really because they were mediocre too. The entertainment had a few highlights but mostly forgettable. So the itinerary was good, cabins fine, food below average, and entertainment and activities below average.
Wanna Be Retired Posted October 25, 2017 #83 Share Posted October 25, 2017 We leave on the Vision out of Galveston in about 12 days. I am hoping for a relaxing 5 days. We have a Junior Suite and I am hoping to spend a lot if time on my balcony with my paints and pencils. I am not sure what to expect because Navigator, Freedom and Liberty are the only ships I have ever been on. My daughter is getting married on Enchantment next year so we are curious to see what the ship is like.
CanobieFan Posted October 25, 2017 #84 Share Posted October 25, 2017 My second cruise I ever took was on vision. It was on the smaller side but that didn't really make a difference to me. I thought our room was fine for what it was I thought the ship was fine for what it was. Although about halfway through the ceiling there was an odd smell in the Centrum... That as the week went on smelled more and more as if there was raw sewage leaking. Several other reviews from the same time period of my sailing also made note of the unpleasant odor only found in the Centrum area. I posted a review on my travel blog. It might be long-winded but you could at least skip past and see the photos to get an idea what the ship looks like. http://amusementparkstuff.blogspot.com/2016/10/seven-days-on-ms-vision-of-seas.html

I'm a little concerned about the smell you mentioned. Our room is right next to the Centrum. We leave in 44 days. :p

ccotting Posted October 27, 2017 #89 Share Posted October 27, 2017 We enjoyed her just this Spring. Thought it was a very well run ship and we had no complaints. Chops was good, we didn't do Giovanni's. Our MDR table staff was excellent.

I thought I would just mention in case you are not aware, even though Vision and Enchantment are in the same class, Enchantment is larger. It was cut in half several years ago, stretched 72 feet and a new section inserted which gave more cabins, a larger pool deck, Boleros Lounge between Guest Services and the casino, and more space on the shops level for the photo area. Thetrail Posted October 28, 2017 #92 Share Posted October 28, 2017 I had a favorable experience aboard the Vision. Yes, the Windjammer food is pretty average, but I feel that way about most cafeterias. My biggest gripe was a lack of a late night dining option other than room service. It would have been nice to get a cooked to order burger or freshly made pizza or a carved roast beef sandwich while listening to some music in the lounges around midnight.Park Café till 1am.......Burgers,pizza, hot dogs, etc.

ldubs Posted October 30, 2017 #94 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Hi everyone. Just recently returned from Vision of the Seas (Quebec City to NJ). We were a group of 10. Actually started in Niagara Falls, then took a few days to drive through Montreal and on to Quebec City before boarding. I have not read all the posts here so apologize if I am too repetitive. It has been awhile since we have been on a smaller ship. I have to say we enjoyed this cruise and the ship immensely. Food was very good, there was some excellent entertainment, staff was outstanding and best of all everyone was having a great time from what I could see. We all thought the ship was in great shape. Nothing bad to report. We did eat at the Izumi (Asian) restaurant. I would say it was fair to fairly good.
txladyjan Posted February 5, 2018 #95 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Going on the Vision in April. Oceanview rooms on deck 4. Can anyone tell me if there are refrigerators in that type room? I think I saw that question on an earlier post but now can’t find it. TIA. Sent from my iPad using Forums
mollyeilis Posted February 5, 2018 #96 Share Posted February 5, 2018 We will be sailing on the Vision in 2018. We have cruised other larger RCCL ships, but have never cruised on the Vision. Would love to know your pros and cons of the Vision. Thanks! We had one of the then-new, then-called panoramic ocean view rooms. We LOVED that schooner bar wasn’t near the casino, so I could sit there and enjoy it. (On freedom and adventure it’s too close to the casino and I can’t breathe and go into asthma because of the cigarette smoke wafting out) I did NOT like that the proximity of the casino to the Centrum combined with atrocious weather that closed the outdoor decks caused the smoke to come out of the casino, past guest services desk, and started rising in the Centrum. It was getting very close to the smoke coming into our room when the bad weather broke and things got aired out a bit. I am very sensitive to smoke, if you can’t tell. :)
Cruisen Elf Posted February 5, 2018 #97 Share Posted February 5, 2018 Going on the Vision in April. Oceanview rooms on deck 4. Can anyone tell me if there are refrigerators in that type room? I think I saw that question on an earlier post but now can’t find it. TIA. Sent from my iPad using Forums We had an ocean view cabin on Deck 3 in 2015 and did NOT have a refrigerator. I don't know if that changed after the refurbishment mentioned earlier. As another poster noted, you can request ice from your room steward if you have beverages you want to keep cold. If you have a medical need for a refrigerator, you should contact Royal Caribbean directly to make arrangements ahead of time.
Galleon1234 Posted February 5, 2018 Author #98 Share Posted February 5, 2018 We are sailing on the Vision also soon. Would love to hear about the Vision from those that have sailed recently. This will be our first time on the Vision, but have sailed Ecclesiastes often. Where were your favorite places to hang out during the day. Do they have an ice skating show? Best place to see the ocean while playing cards etc. Good good? Thanks
