ciaobella12 Posted August 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2017 hello fellow CCs, we are UK residents sailing from Southampton; is there a baggage weight restriction does any one know? hoping to pack entire wardrobes (and some)!
Beanb41 Posted August 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2017 No restrictions by Celebrity but take into consideration how you are getting back to Southampton. If your cruise is Southampton to Southampton no issues but if you are flying back or travelling overland there may be
Project_gal Posted August 3, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Do be aware that, depending on the room you have booked, you will have limited storage available on board!
Rare chemmo Posted August 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Pack as much as you like...the only restraint is how big a cabin you have booked to store your clothes in once on board!
jomf Posted August 3, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2017 There is a weight limit to each case I believe?
Tiggertastic Posted August 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2017 I have a rule which is, if I can get it in the car I can take it. It did used to be if I could get it in the boot but the new suv has a smaller boot that an A6. More room for my stuff. Merly Posted August 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Take as much as you want. I like it in particular for shoes, I can take lots of pairs and if they only go with one outfit it doesn't matter, where as when flying I am restricted.

wrk2cruise Posted August 3, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2017 A few years ago we were on a TA and had a young couple from Paris at our dining table. They were moving to the US and had done research and found that cruising was the most economical way of getting them and their belongings from Europe to the US. It was their first cruise and opened up after a couple of days. They said they arrived at Barcelona with a trailer with 12 suitcases. The porter gave them a funny look and just said "Do you know how small the cabins are". They told us they had everything in their inside cabin. I told them that the cabin steward could store stuff for the duration if they didn't need it but they said they had it covered. The funny thing there was a "dress like a pirate" competition one night. She went through her stuff and they had killer costumes including a blow up parrot which they were able to pull from their belongings. They made for a memorable cruise. They were definitely on a tight budget. Two lovely ladys at our table shared wine with them most nights and we provided our Elite internet time with them to straighten out some issues with bank transfers. They were being picked up by friends in Florida. When we found they had like $10 US the night before we got off we gave them some extra cash. It still makes me feel good to have been able to help out someone in that stage of their life. Better $$$ spent than on a few drinks or in the casino.
