Covepointcruiser Posted October 27, 2017 #127 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Both the Tuscan and the Lawn Grill are open for Lunch today the first day of the Atlantic Crossinf. I know the Lawn Grill offers an abrivated menu with burger, tuna burgers and a vege burger. Don’t know about Tuscan and the menu is not posted on the TV. The Porch is open, as always, $30, same menu for Lunch and Dinner.
UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #128 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Having been to Tenerife a few times we just got the free shuttle bus to the terminal and made the short walk in to town. As we were walking we noticed an interesting looking building so headed towards it. As we got closer we established it was a market, and who doesn't like a market? Outside there was a sculpture of a couple of fishermen and a fishing boat. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #129 Share Posted October 27, 2017 The market, Mercado Municipal Nuestra Senora de Africa, had an variety of sellers, such as fruit, flowers and fish amongst other things. Before we left we stopped and had a beer and some tapas. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #130 Share Posted October 27, 2017 On the way back to the ship we noticed quite a large poo emoji in the centre of the town. I think it was warning people of the fines for fouling in the street. [emoji54] After we docked in Tenerife yesterday Freedom of the Seas docked in front of us. It was the third time we had seen her this trip, and the second time we had docked together after Freedom was in Barcelona at the time as us. Freedom had left Civitavecchia a day before our cruise started. As she arrived after us we left before her. That's our port stops done. The next land we will see will be Fort Lauderdale next Friday. UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #132 Share Posted October 27, 2017 The MDR menus for Thursday evening. After dinner CD Pete did a Mind Reading and Mentalism show in Celebrity Central. We I saw he was going to be the CD on the cruise I came across some videos on YouTube of him doing some shows on another ship. I had asked him earlier in the cruise if he was going to do a show. He said, "He might". It was interesting to watch and I videoed it and will put some clips up on YouTube myself, although probably not until after I get home. For one part he got an audience member up on stage, flicked through a book and asked them to say stop at some point. He then asked them to read and remember the first word on the page. He then started 'reading his mind'. "It's a small word? Does it have an E in it?" etc. CD Pete then wrote SEX on his pad. Of course it wasn't the 'real' word but it opened it up for some fun questions, "When did you last do this? Who was it with?" CD Pete then turned away (and flipped the page) before showing the pad to the chap on stage. He then got it confirmed that the word on the pad was the correct word. CD Pete then turned the pad to the audience for the big reveal, playing all innocent about why we had been laughing at the questions he had asked. Another 'trick' was to place a broken bottle in a bag and have three other bags that looked similar. He then mixed the order of the bags up before asking another audience member to pick a bag that he would then squash flat. The last bag was the bag with the broken bottle in it. Phew! [emoji23] After his show we headed up to the Sky Lounge for the last half the second Silent Disco of the cruise. UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #133 Share Posted October 27, 2017 I think this means you will have 6 changes, as UK go from BST to GMT on Sunday. I suppose it will depend on whether USA have already changed, or whether it’s after you get to Miami. It's only another 5 as the US don't change their clocks until the Sunday after we arrive. UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #135 Share Posted October 27, 2017 Captain Dimitrios gave the ship's location in his morning announcement. He said we were 28 degrees 41 minutes North, 22 degrees 21 minutes West. Mapping the location on Google gives... He said we had travelled 336 miles since leaving Tenerife, with 3058 miles to go. The sea depth was 4700m, or 15400ft. There's a packed programme today with lots of activities going on. We started with Progressive Golf in the Sky Lounge which was probably more popular than CD Pete and Charlotte had envisaged, with over 40 signing up to play. Whilst Charlotte took charge of the golf CD Pete started a group rehearsal for a Flash Mob that will perform later in the cruise. After a late breakfast it was round two of the Speedoku. We were told it was harder than the first round, which I'd agree to, however one lady whizzed through it in around 5 minutes! [emoji54] With points awarded for the first three third place was claimed at 11 1/2 minutes. Lunch today in the Oceanview Cafe had a German Oktoberfest theme. There were some German beers available on sale as promotional items, as such they were excluded from the drinks packages. The 1L Paulanar Oktoberfest came with a large 'mug' for $15 plus service charge. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

UKPete71 Posted October 27, 2017 Author #137 Share Posted October 27, 2017 We had a matinee show in the Reflection Theatre today, MAXX. We then spent a bit of time chilling on deck 15, first of all doing some putting before heading to the Sunset Bar to play some dominos we had bought with us, whilst we looked out over the aft of the ship. We were a bit surprised to see the putting equipment out as we don't recall see any holes marked on the lawn when we were on board in April. UKPete71 Posted October 28, 2017 Author #138 Share Posted October 28, 2017 The MDR menus for Friday evening. There was late night entertainment in the Reflection Theatre, courtesy of Liar's Club. The theatre was packed, which I would put down to Captain Dimitrios being on the panel alongside CD Pete and Guest Relations Manager Julie. Pete and Julie had a great time making jokes at Captain Dimitrios's expense. [emoji23] If you're in the theatre and notice your chair doesn't have an arm rest you may find your chair is smaller than the others, as I found out tonight. It's a good job I was sitting next to my DW as it was a bit cosy. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
UKPete71 Posted October 28, 2017 Author #139 Share Posted October 28, 2017 The Celebrity Today for Saturday 28th October. If I heard Captain Dimitrios right this morning he gave the ship's location as 28 degrees 13 minutes North, 31 degrees 10 minutes West. Mapping the location on Google gives... It looks similar to the position that is shown on channel 5. He said we had travelled 802 miles since leaving Tenerife, with 2622 miles to go. The sea depth was 4400m, or 14400ft. UKPete71 Posted October 28, 2017 Author #140 Share Posted October 28, 2017 There's been a burst water pipe on deck 3 this morning so that deck is currently out of action at the moment. Captain Dimitrios has been on the PA and has said the leak has been contained and the crew were working to get the area accessible again. UKPete71 Posted October 29, 2017 Author #142 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Last night's 7 & 9 show in the Reflection Theatre was Mark Walker. He had a blend of comedy and music, culminating in getting two couples up on stage for some Irish dancing. The MDR for Thursday night. The late entertainment in the theatre was Dancing With The Officers, with six guesses pairing up with six officers in a comedy dance off. He said we were 27 degrees 43 minutes North, 40 degrees 25 minutes West. Mapping the location on Google gives... He said we had travelled 1300 miles since leaving Tenerife, with 2100 miles to go. I don't recall him giving the sea depth. He did say we'd have waves of only 4/5ft, with the temperature today being 24C/75F. The nearest land is Flores Island in the Azores, 900 miles to our starboard side. There's another packed programme today. The Celebrity Today for Sunday 29th October. kloos5 Posted October 29, 2017 #145 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Thank you for such a thorough review!!! Someone told me that there are two saunas on Reflection, one in Persian Gardens (fee) and another one (no fee) by the gym, somewhere near the women's / men's lockers? Do you happen to know if there is in fact another sauna? I would really appreciate an answer. Dry or wet or if it's even there? Many thanks in advance, Edyta
Covepointcruiser Posted October 29, 2017 #146 Share Posted October 29, 2017 Don’t know about the one in the Persian Gardens but there is definitely one in the womens changing room by the spa and it is free. Just asked my husband and he doesn’t know about the one in the men’s locker room. So to answer your question there are at least two saunas, one free. upwarduk Posted October 30, 2017 #149 Share Posted October 30, 2017 I've not asked but there are a few other threads on here that say almond milk is available around the ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums If you need almond milk for dietary reasons, pre ‘order.’ I am dairy intolerant, so fill in a ‘Special Needs’ form. This insures that Lactose Free / Soya milk will have been pre ordered and loaded on to the ship before she sails. I am also supplied with special deserts. wallysdtr Posted October 30, 2017 #150 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Our favorite bartender on the reflection is Niksa. He worked in the world class bar last year. We wanted to make sure he was still there. Does anyone know if he is?
