Hi Kim- looking forward to following along when you post your review! We are just off Harmony, and Adventure Ocean will be open all day during port- they will feed the kids lunch and dinner and you don’t have to pay for it like on NCL. Their hours during sea days are 9-12, 2-5, 7-10 and then late night after 10 for I think $7/hour.

 

The late night dining is as bad as others have said, so plan accordingly. Sorrento’s pizza is nasty, too. Room service is $7.95 and Johnny Rockets is just under $12 per person FYI.

 

I found an article, by RC, about Johnny Rockets (although it's from 2015) that said they charge $6.95 for the meal and you can eat whatever you want (soda and shakes additional). So, I wonder if the price has actually gone up that much (to the $12pp you mentioned :o).

 

 

It also gave a list of the ships that it's on and Jewel was not one of them (of course this is a few years old and it may have changed).

You should bring cash or you will need to go to the ATM. CCL does make the casino easier.

Jewel's slots are cash and you insert your sea pass to track play. You can charge cash at the cashier cage for a fee.

Haha, I'm so busy and procrastinating these days. Sakari is the only one packed so far. She said she's more excited about this cruise than ever before (I think it's because we are cruising with Thrilled and kids again and she is going into this cruise actually knowing someone).

 

 

Kendra has officially decided not to come. They are so busy working on their home and hoping to have it finished and moving in by next month. It's been a year project of completely gutting the house and rebuilding. She's super excited!

Well darnit. I was hoping you could use you room card like CCL and put it on the room charges. That way you get to charge the cc associated with your room, earn cash back, and not have to carry around a lot of cash to the cruise. Blah!

The only way to have the fee waved is if you are a member of the players club, Club Royale which is by invitation only. If you spend time on the slots be sure to always insert your sea pass for points.

Any idea what the "fee" is? Is it a flat rate or a percentage? We spend a little time each night in the casino, but by no means are we big spenders. We usually only play about $500 per cruise so using our sea pass for points probably wouldn't be beneficial.

Easiest way is to call the Crown & Anchor team at 800-526-9723. If you have a number they can give it to you. If you don't, you can register.

The trick is to start out with a cash account. Royal will let you charge up to $500 over any OBC you might have before they ask for any money. While you have a cash account, there is no fee for a cash advance at the casino. Once you are finished with your cash advances, go to Guest Services and switch to a credit card type account.

So...let's talk wine now.

 

It's my understanding that we will be able to bring 2 bottles (750). I'm not a wine drinker and have spent years trying to find something that suits my taste buds. I absolutely HATE beer and to me, wine has that bitter taste to it. Anyone who has read my reviews in the past probably get a kick out of my wine tasting adventures.

 

HOWEVER...I have finally found a few things that I like and can tolerate. These items are what I would call "cheap wine". I have developed a taste for Arbor Mist Peach Moscato and also Castello del Poggio Moscato. Both super cheap wines, but work for me.

 

So...these bottles are also the cheap "twist off" top and no cork. Explain this "corkage" fee to me. There's no "cork" to remove, so will I be able to take the bottle where ever and not have to worry about them removing the cork?

 

I'm a newbie with this wine thing...;p

Cork or no cork, same rules apply. Wine brought aboard is for "in room" consumption. If you take the bottle out to dinner, you will be charged a corkage fee. However, you can always pour a glass in your room and carry out to dinner or wherever. Have a great cruise.

This should not be a problem...i just wouldn't advertise it... We generally do as the other poster said and have a glass or two while getting ready for dinner and have carried a glass or two to dinner. Cheap wine is the way we roll...

You should be fine. They seem to be reluctant to charge the fee for wine.

It’s been a while since I’ve cruised on RCL too, but I thought the pizza was good before. I hope it’s not as bad as people are saying. It’s my fav late night snack. . .

 

Just got of the Adventue and to each his own. However, I found it very similar to Papa Johns. Nothing like cardboard and ketchup. LOL

So...how do you pack bottles of wine for the suitcase to keep them from breaking on the flight? (I've seen those videos of the luggage people at the airport slinging that luggage around and sometimes destroying it). ;)
