Belfastman Posted July 26, 2018 #351 Share Posted July 26, 2018 A few more thoughts. There is now an extra window at the back of MDR. New oceanview cabins on 4 work well and a few have a larger bathroom. Shower curtain still present in veranda cabins. New much better sized tables on all balconies. The heavy metal chair in the CC suites has been replaced. Don't like the effect of the Art gallery beside Mosaics. norn iron Posted July 26, 2018 #354 Share Posted July 26, 2018 To UK CC contributors, if have satellite or cable tv, this evening go to your extended TV menu and choose (regional) BBC Northern Ireland news at 18:30. The BBC had a camera crew on board and interviewed Richard Twynham amongst others today.
chilimax Posted July 26, 2018 #355 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Thanks for your reply. Today's visit must be slightly different to the LCV visit on 31st as it includes lunch, which I believe is in Aqualina. Hope it's not just pastries!

On the other hand, I do like the Art gallery where it is. It is enclosed, not intrusive and easy to avoid if you want to.

norn iron Posted July 26, 2018 #358 Share Posted July 26, 2018 The Tapas counter in The Living Room has changed. It is a much smaller counter, slightly set further back than on Journey and Quest. The intention is to offer waiter service rather than self-service.
CA Oceanfront Posted July 26, 2018 #359 Share Posted July 26, 2018 I really appreciate the time and effort being put forth by our community in providing us with their initial observations about Pursuit. It is this attitude of cooperative involvement that makes this such a helpful forum. So here’s my selfishly personal question, and it may not be answerable until the maiden voyage on August 1, but are there bar servers waiting on the Sunset Veranda? gkm Posted July 26, 2018 #366 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Here's a link to an interview with Captain Carl that was on FaceBook this morning. There's nice camera work on areas of the ship, including the Sunset Veranda. It might be the same one that's on BBC but because I'm in the U.S., I can't get it. excitedofharpenden Posted July 26, 2018 #367 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Hey Garry! No, that is a different one to the local news program on BBC NI posted by Riocca. That program was more about the local importance of the work and a few clips of what has been done and an interview with UK MD, Richard Twynam. Not a great deal of detail though. Grandma Cruising Posted July 26, 2018 #368 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Watched the BBC NI regional news programme. It was about the potential effect of the successful contract, including hopes for similar work in the future, but had lots of shots of the Pursuit too. nokewood20 Posted July 26, 2018 #369 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Also enjoyed the Pursuit visit today. Agree with many of the earlier reports. Asked about plans to support drinks service in the absence of a Sunset Bar. Was told that they planned to introduce floating waiters solely to serve drinks. Looks like capacity in outside terrace is increased by about 60%. No more walking around for table in sunny days. Side by side tables for 2 in specialised Restaraunt’s . Will reserve judgement until I try them next cruise 30th August / 12th September I Sent from my iPhone using Forums
excitedofharpenden Posted July 26, 2018 #370 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Everything I’ve read thus far officially is that drinks will come from the bar currently at the port side entrance to Windows. How it works in practice remains to be seen and how it is staffed, but I like the fact there are going to be more tables at the Sunset Verandah and that all additional seating is under cover. I know not all agree with me, but the Sunset Bar in my view is a huge waste of space on JR and QS. We’ll see...... Phil

marinaro44 Posted July 26, 2018 #372 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Looks like capacity in outside terrace is increased by about 60%. Most that I can make out from the video interview with Captain Carl is five or six additional four-top tables, a 25-30% increase over the twenty on Quest and Journey. nokewood20 Posted July 26, 2018 #373 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Didn’t take an exact count but recollection from standing on sunset terrace today there were more than 5 - 6 additional tables . Additional area made available is not only removable of bar area but the extra space previously used by passengers. From memory 4 tables are not fitted in each line instead it the single on by the rail. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

nokewood20 Posted July 26, 2018 #375 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Thanks! A bit of tweaking. Phil Many innovations have been introduced , some large and some small. Like many things in life some will be more successful than others. I intend to experience the changes on my Pursuit cruise before commenting too much. Amazara will no doubt listen and as Phil writes , further tweaking may take place in the coming months. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
