Oasis class boardwalk balcony ?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My brother in law is just about to book a boardwalk balcony cabin on the Oasis, a few questions, I realize during the daytime it can be noisy how is it at night, his room would be on deck11?

Somebody told me boardwalk balcony staterooms comes with perks is this true, and if so, what are the perks?

Just in case the link gets broken (probably inevitable), here is a cut 'n' paste job:

NEIGHBORHOOD BALCONIES

Enjoy exclusive complimentary amenities.

Park View Balcony:

  • Savor a complimentary lunch for two at Giovanni's Table, Jamie's Italian, Sabor or Johnny Rockets®.
  • A complimentary bottle of red wine welcomes your arrival.
  • Step up your game with casino gaming lessons from an onboard expert.

Boardwalk View Balcony:

  • Classic hamburgers and more at a complimentary meal for four at Johnny Rockets®.
  • Enjoy unlimited soft drinks throughout the cruise with a soda package for two guests.
  • Tackle the Rock Climbing Wall at a session for the entire family.

I was on the Allure- Boardwalk balcony- farthest from the Aquatheater. It was great-close to elevators and not noisy but we weren't in the room much and had late dinner and entertainment times. 6 months later my parents (who also stayed next to me) went on the Allure again but stayed closer to the Aquatheater and said it was more noisy! Going on Harmony in a few weeks and booked the same location as the first time on Allure!

Forgot to say it was deck 11! The Boardwalk perks- I think- are only if you book with the deal. We booked at a much lower rate than when "the deal of Johnny Rockets " came out. We are 2 adults so this wouldn't have saved us anything but if you have children you should price it all out......

We usually book the Boardwalk balcony rooms on Deck 8 (same deck as Central Park Cafe) for easier access to the Park Cafe for my morning caramel macchiato!! We also try to get the farthest AFT cabin closest to the aqua theater and enjoying watching the shows from our private balcony! Noise from the theater is over by 10pm, so, unless you go to bed before that, noise won't be an issue. Also love being able to see the ocean wake in the back!!;) Deck 8 is well located for anything!!

I booked one of these and can't wait to watch from our balcony and be so close to the Park Cafe. Another thing I noticed on the deck plans was there is a bathroom located close to the elevators so no worries if someone is using the cabin bathroom, not far to go, LOL!

I've stayed in about 4 boardwalk balconies ... generally about midway down the boardwalk. You get some noise during shows. If your balcony door is shut it will be muffled, but there is a little bit of bleed-through. Sometimes they play movies in the evening ... at that point, it depends on the movie. You do have to remember that there are people in cabins across from you and walking below you, so you make the mistake of heading to your balcony sans clothes only ones. You generally will want to keep the curtains drawn when changing.

Yep, my thoughts too!! Of course, my kids would die if it ended up on U-tube!!

I'd have to go all political on them by saying "That wasn't me!":halo:

We are staying in a Boardwalk stateroom in June on the Symphony. Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade from the soda package to the refreshment package? Or do you just have to pay the full price?

Others may have had a different experience, but, in my experience, the "included soda package" cannot be upgraded.:( I have had to buy another package if I wanted more than the soda.

We have stayed in Boardwalk balconies twice on Allure. I loved the people watching from the balcony. The first time we were on deck 12 and the 2nd cabin from the aft. We had great views of Ocean Aria and the ocean itself. The only drawback was the long walk to the elevator.

The 2nd time we were the 2nd cabin with the Boardwalk balcony from the elevator. We were on deck 11 and we were able to see Ocean Aria etc. but the view wasn't as good as the first time. We are going on Allure this summer for the 4th time, but the 3rd time in a Boardwalk balcony.

The one other cruise we had on Allure was in an ocean view balcony and that is what we usually get on a cruise. I find on Allure though that I really like the Boardwalk balcony. I think it's because it's different from all the other cruises we have sailed.

I have purchased the alcohol package and it is kind of a waste of the soda package as soda is free with the alcohol package. There is, of course, no refund of the soda cost as I really didn't pay for it.
