CruiserBelle Posted April 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2018 Is it strictly a dvd player or will it play blu-ray as well?
compozer Posted April 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2018 No blu-ray. Not all suites have them. Regal, Royal, Majestic don't.
NavyVeteran Posted April 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2018 It is DVD only. On ships that have added video on demand, the DVD player has been removed. It is no longer on the Carribbean Princess.
cruzsnooze Posted April 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I was on the Caribbean Princess in February and it's not available anymore
Ron the Rev Posted April 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Those from the UK should note it's no good taking your own DVD's as the players only accept the US standard and not our zone ones.
aknursemom Posted May 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 3, 2018 Has anyone been on the Island recently who can tell me if the suites have video on demand or the DVD player? Thank you!

So they've added the video on demand to all the rooms on the Caribbean Princess or just the full suites?

jasbo49 Posted May 4, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 4, 2018 The Crown no longer has DVD players in suites. During the March-April dry dock, large-screen TVs were installed, and the shelf where the DVD was is covered up by the larger screen. Jim

Jim With the hundreds of movies available on the ships with working on-demand systems, there is no longer a need to have DVD plays in suites to play DVDs available from the Princess inventory. floridalover5623 Posted May 5, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) With the hundreds of movies available on the ships with working on-demand systems, there is no longer a need to have DVD plays in suites to play DVDs available from the Princess inventory. Unless the full suites have many more selections then the regular cabins there aren't "hundreds" of movies available to be selected from with the on demand system. Possibly 120 at the most. My reference was to the Crown. No on-demand movies, no hundreds of movies. More like twos of movies. Jim

tv24 Posted May 6, 2018 #15 Share Posted May 6, 2018 No DVD players in the suites on the Royal. Selection of movies on demand was good, way better than the old DVD library on the Carribbean.
cmdchiefthom Posted May 6, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 6, 2018 On the Star they put in larger t.v.s but no on demand. Do you know if there are DVD players in the Suites, and are they compatible with BluRay?
