Allure Showers

I'm sailing on the Allure in June. Can anyone tell me if the showers have the little shelves on the wall to hold soap and shampoo bottles? I always bring my own stuff, and just need to know if I need to bring something to hang them in.

There is a small shelf but any small travel sized bottles can fall through in-between the metal grates (?) that makes up the bottom of the shelf...hard to explain.

And anything too tall wants to topple over and fall to the floor. IMO, those "shelves" are almost useless.

bring a small tupperware container (3x3 or 4x4 inch) to put in the shelf. it works great. Enjoy.

I just use a washcloth to line the bottom of the shelf to keep items from falling over or slipping through the grates.

It was one of the first things that I noticed on Oasis and Allure, the first sign of Royal Caribbean finding ways to save pennies to the detriment of passenger comfort.

 

Up until this class of ship, the metal bars on the holders in the shower were about 1/4" apart. On Oasis and Allure, they are about 1/2" apart, allowing each one to be made of two or three fewer metal pieces, but making them much less useful and much more annoying to the cruisers.

 

Maybe they saved 5 cents per shower?

 

And so it began.

Check your local WalMart or Dollar Store first. I have something I got at the dollar store that is very similar to this, but has pockets. It's mesh also so you can see what is in the pocket, and any water drains out.

Very handy, it comes on every cruise with me.

Great tip on this mesh bags! Does Allure have the annoying shower curtains, or do they have doors?
