Expedited Arrival

Recommended Posts

When we went to our cruise account there was a graphic that said we qualified for expedited check in. We then filled out our info on our iPad and a special boarding graphic resulted. I hope this makes sense. It’s difficukt to explain.

Just printed off boarding pass for husband and I for Allure in Oct (Port Everglades). We both got "Expedited Arrival" boarding passes. My 90 year old parents are traveling with us under separate reservations. Have not finished their online check in, need to get the pix taken and upload. Just hope we are not put in an Expedited line, and my 90 year old parents are put in regular online check in line. I like to stay close to them during checkin, with all the paper work and electronic stuff, it can be a bit confusing for them. Hopefully once I get them set up in online with check in, they will be Expedited too. Any experience with the Expedited Arrival process?

Don't be concerned about the picture...most cases (we've noticed) RCI ends up taking their own anyway...only takes an extra minute or so.

We are sailing on Allure in October, in 68 days. When can you check-in via the app and upload your photo, etc. Also, I have heard about some people getting expedited boarding. Anyone know anything about that? Do you only get that if you check-in via the app? Thanks!

expedited boarding is for Pinnacle and those in Star class suites. (genie escorts you on board)

boarding is otherwise : Back to backers, Wedding Parties, Suites then by boarding number. once boarding begins there is very little time between the first group and the last group called. usually under 20 minutes.

Check-in is normally available 90 days before the cruise.

I checked in via the computer for my 9-16-18 Symphony cruise and my Set Sail Pass showed up on my app automatically. It says Expedited Arrival not Expedited Boarding. You can check in via the App but I wasn't aware of that until I checked in online and at the bottom of the screen it said you could check in via the app. Other members of my sailing party used the app once I alerted them to it's availability.

I had downloaded the App but checked in online the other day for my October Allure sailing. I was surprised to see “Expedited Arrival” on my Set Sail Pass. I had never seen that before. My upcoming August Allure Set Sail Pass is marked as Sea Class ( we have a JS) and I expected the October Pass to say Sky Class (we have a GS for that sailing). But instead, it says “Expedited Arrival”. Does anyone know what is the difference? I saw on a FB page that people who checked in via the App had an Expedited Pass and went to a separate check- in line. Can anyone who has done the Expedited Arrival chime in and tell me about the experience?

This is what I found from Royal:

Guests simply need to download the new Royal Caribbean smart phone app and then check-in on the mobile app prior to the cruise.

Once the mobile check-in is complete, guests might see an Expedited Arrival choice on their mobile boarding pass, which means they have been selected to participate in our boarding trial.

Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, there will be an Expedited Arrival lane for these guests, who may present their mobile boarding pass.

Since this is a test, the exact process may change. This may be a precursor to the "frictionless" check-in Royal

Sailing this coming Sunday on Allure. Checked in through the app for my DW and me and were selected for "Expedited Arrival". Will let you know about the experience after I board.

I just checked my App. I did online checkin for both my August and October cruises on the Allure, and printed out my Set Sail passes. I can now see my Set Sail Pass on the App, for both cruises, and both say Expedited Arrival. We are in a JS for August and GS for October. Will be interesting to see what Expedited Arrival means, when we board Allure on Sunday!

Just got off the Allure yesterday where only my 9 year old son had expedited arrival. I even received a text as well 3 days prior telling me I had expedited arrival. When we got there we went into the expedited arrival entrance which is well marked and separate from the general entrance. Showed them the set sail pass from my phone but because only my son had it we still had to go to the counter. It was still somewhat expedited since there was a separate line that moved very quickly. If everyone in your party has expedited arrival it should go pretty fast.

Thanks for your fast response. I just found out that one of the other couples joining us, entered the same arrival time, but their Set Sail Pass doesn't say that, only lists the time. Wonder if we will have to go to a separate area to board. I guess I will find out in about 5 weeks.

Are you in a suite by chance?

We are sailing Symphony in October and got a message directing us to check-in using the Royal App as part of an expedited check-in trial. The Royal App shows our reservation but does not allow check-in. Called online support twice and they had no idea about the new online app message/functionality. Anyone else having this issue?

  • 2 weeks later...

We are boarding Allure soon and we have “expedited arrival” for our boarding pass which looks totally different from the regular boarding pass. We are not in a suite or Pinnacle.

Can anyone who has experienced this when boarding the Allure explain the procedure? Thanks for any insight.
