Customs in Barcelona at Debarkation

I’ll be originating and returning to Barcelona on a round trip Western Med cruise to all EU countries.As a US citizen, will there be Customs to clear before departing from the cruise terminal?

If you're flying back into the US from Barcelona you'll go through customs when you land in the US.

the only time had to do so in Barcelona was on our recent Transatlantic Florida to Barcelona-caused quite a backlog in terminal and disembarkation was suspended for a while

As a US citizen, if you are flying home from Barcelona, you will have to go through passport control. Beware! Barcelona airport security can take two hours to get through. I'm going to post a review of my experience in a new thread.

Also US citizens, we didn’t have to go thru custom when we debarked last week. But we did go thru passport control at BCN airport. We had a very early flight (6AM), so the line at passport control wasn’t bad, but it was moving slowly and there were only 2 booths open.

No because you have not left the customs union. When you leave Europe to return home you will have to go through customs/passport control.
