Thank you, Bird, for this terrific story and all your time. We really enjoyed it. So well done, that I feel a bit melancholic...like 'my cruise' is about over. Safe travels home.

BirdTravels, I just want to says thanks for the reviews and tips. I will be on the bliss in 2 weeks, your reviews made me changed one of my excursion to the Tracy Arm excursion, which I think is going to be one of the best experience! Wishing you have a safe trip to go back home! I really appreciate your time!!

The ice was a problem this week. Ice conditions change day to day, week to week.

While our small ship, carefully, navigated the ice, the Bliss didn’t get anywhere close. In the picture below, the Bliss was beyond the narrow bend in the distance.

He’s been on for a few weeks. I assume since New York for all of the VIP and Press cruises. Probably leave to tomorrow or soon.

I would have loved to see Wyland painting!! He unfortunately wasn't on the Panama Cruise.

Thanks for your wonderful trip report! I wasn't planning on a Bliss Alaska cruise, but now I am trying to convince hubby to go in Sept.

Bird, Just in awe of your informative and beautiful thread you have shared with us. This thread has created excitement and even more anticipation for our cruise in September. It has allowed for so many questions to be answered and decisions to be made. I hope this cruise was relaxing and majestic for you. Thank you so very much.

Did they give a reason for closing the shops and casino that early?

We are entering Canadian and US waters, and will remain in those waters until we arrive in Seattle. Canadian and Washington laws do not allow duty free and casino operations.

Bird, confused here - there is casino and duty free until leaving Victoria, right? So it's just RETURNING to US that casino & duty free closed?

Nope.

Shops and casino closes 3 hours before we arrive in Victoria and never reopen.

BirdTravels, NCL needs to at least send you at least a free tee shirt! You did an amazing job orienting us to the GORGEOUS new ship as well as drumming up excitement for the Alaska itinerary.

Thank you!

No charging permitted whilst you are out of your cabin and any Do Not Disturb signs left for more than 24 hours will result in steward coming in per someone’s protocol

Does the bathroom outlet charge while the lights are out ?

Sufficient low voltage wattage appliances shavers toothbrushes lap tops tablets cell phones should be OK

and of course NO hair dryers irons etc.

Is this the type of ship that requires you to put a card in a slot to energize the outlets ?

-------------------------

Pro tip - bring an expired credit card or similar to leave in the slot. Your cabin steward my confiscate it, but it works to keep everything on. AC too!

Loving all the photos - although it appears there are not other people in any of them - with 4000+ cruisers that seems like a good thing regarding being over crowded. I'm wondering what time you are taking these photos - is everyone sleeping? :) Thank you for your thread!

Hi Bird,

Love your posts and all the pics. Sure looks like you had a great time!!

I have a question that I hope you can answer.

Yesterday I got an email from NCL that my reservations for Havana and Jersey Boys (both at 7:30) were cancelled and I can rebook when I get on the ship. So I called NCL yesterday and they showed my reservations were still in tact. However today my friend, who is going with us and staying in the Haven, got the same email yesterday and today she talked to her PCC who said the 7:30 shows are no longer listed. Do you have any idea why this would have happened? We are not sailing until September. Just wonder if there was any talk on the ship as to the changes.
