Heidi13 Posted June 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2018 Affirmative, on our B2B cruises we never removed anything from the cabin. On 1 B2B when we had to change cabins the room stewards pitched in to help when the new cabin was ready. You will need a new room card, which is normally delivered to your cabin on the last evening of the first cruise (Princess). The process to sign out/in varies by port, but normally we sign out with the old card and then sign back in with the new card. Worst case was one time we had to sign out and remain ashore until ship got a zero count, only then could we return to the ship and sign in with the new card. A couple of days prior to the end of your first leg you will receive in your stateroom an invitation for a pre-TAD meeting. Not mandatory to attend but since this is your first B2B cruise I recommend you attend it. Good info and Q&As. Also you will receive detailed instructions on where and what time to meet and what to bring with you on TAD. Also where and what time your TAD lunch is for the consecutive cruisers. After you clear customs on your TAD you are free to go back to your room if you want. The fire doors will be closed but you can open them. No waiting until 1:00. If the B2B was one booking, you might use the came card for the entire trip [less work for the Purser's staff]. You may want to see if there are tours [ship's or DIY] on the layover day - often all hands are involved in getting luggage on and off the ship so shipboard activities are curtailed [no dining room lunch, room service; spa may be more concerned with sales than service]. Seapass card from the first leg will not be valid for the second leg of a B2B cruise. The account is closed at the end of the first leg. Any nonrefundable OBC not spent on the first leg is lost. New Seapass card will be issued. The OP is cruising with Celebrity and the MDR will be open to Concierge Class and sometimes consecutive cruisers if another eating venue isn't listed for them. Because the turn-around-day experience is going to vary according to what ship on what cruise line in what port in what country, and by the way, it depends on how many of you there are. E.g., If you are the only couple doing a b2b, they are not going to hold a meeting for b2b instructions, but rather will call or send you a note asking you to stop by Guest Relations at your convenience. The only common aspects of this that you are able to count on: a. if in the same stateroom, leave your stuff, no big deal. Mention to the steward that you are doing a b2b, but he/she probably knows. b. If you are changing staterooms, mention to your steward, but he/she probably knows. Ask about what is expected of you to help them help you move your stuff from one place to another. c. The ship will inform you what process to follow. They may give you a new sea-pass, ships card, room key on your way off the ship. They may hold a meeting. They may give you an In Transit pass and you pick up your new card on the way back in. It will vary, but they have been there, done that many times before and will let you know what you need to do when and where. It will go smoothly! And any minor inconveniences that pop up are easily forgotten when you remember that you are on a b2b and do not have to return to the real world for awhile! EM While that was your experience completing a B2B in Venice, it is not consistent across all of Europe, as not all countries belong to the EU and/or Schengen Treaty.
