Mel2421 Posted July 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Thanks in advance! I am hoping this will not be a problem.
Rare Essiesmom Posted July 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2018 I have always found elevators to operate very quietly. I did however, keep hearing the 'ding' of an elevator from our cabin that was not near one. Turns out there was a service area across the hall and a service elevator in it. Not annoying. StLouisCruisers Posted July 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2018 No, we used to pick the cabin next to the panoramic lift all the time and you didn't hear noise from the elevators at all.
Pickels Posted July 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Thanks in advance! I am hoping this will not be a problem. The elevators may not be a problem, noise wise, BUT, how about the passengers getting off the elevator? Especially those in a party mood and had "a few"? floridalover5623 Posted July 2, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2018 They're not that noisy but if you listen closely enough you can hear them. Maybe for people who have trouble sleeping it may be a problem.
Thrak Posted July 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Haven't had a cabin by the panoramic elevators but did sail 28 days in a Caribe balcony cabin where you could see my cabin door from the elevator waiting area. I got out of the elevator, turned right, and walked right to my door. Not a problem of any kind from the elevator or passenger noise related to the elevator. DrivesLikeMario Posted July 2, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Elevator noise, no. Noisy passengers, yes.
Mel2421 Posted July 2, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Thanks! I am happy we won’t hear a ton of noise from the lifts.
stoneharborlady Posted July 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Twice had a cabin just across from the panoramic elevators. Never heard a sound, either from the elevators, or from passengers.
jagsfan Posted July 2, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 2, 2018 How about noise from the atrium? Some of the music can get pretty loud! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Tucker in Texas Posted July 2, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 2, 2018 I look for cabins close to the elevator because I have never been disturbed by elevator noise and like the convenience. At worse, passengers giving fond farewells as they are exiting and headed for their cabins but they move on quickly.. Often those cabins are cheaper than those next to them because people are afraid of them and hesitant to book them. That being said, if it is a time when there could be a lot of kids on the ship (when is when I don't book), you could have a problem with bored kids playing elevator games. geocruiser Posted July 2, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 2, 2018 If you don't want that cabin, look on line for another one in the same category and ask to be switched.
