Joyful Joyful Posted October 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hi everyone! Less than a week until we leave Ohio behind and drive down to Miami for our first Celebrity cruise, going on the Equinox! I have a few questions. Is there a piano bar on the ship? One of our last cruises (on Royal) we discovered an outstanding talent in the piano bar, and spent time there most every evening. It made our trip! Will there by wi-fi available at any of the ports? I know to follow the crew when we get off, because they know where to go, but am just curious. The cost to buy an internet package is way too much, as far as I am concerned, for the little bit I would use it. Carnival has a good deal, at $5 a day for the basic internet package. Will the refrigerators keep our bottled water and soda cold (some cruise ship fridges do not!)? Last, but certainly NOT least, is there a sports bar? How can we go about seeing if we will be able to watch our college team play on the Saturday that we are onboard? Thanks all!! Joy

You answered your own question. Will the refrigerators keep our bottled water and soda cold (some cruise ship fridges do not!)? No. The so called refrigerators will keep them cool. Last, but certainly NOT least, is there a sports bar? How can we go about seeing if we will be able to watch our college team play on the Saturday that we are onboard? No sports bar. Thanks all!! TFLG Posted October 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2018 No dedicated sports bar but the gastropub and the casino will often have games on the TVs and in order to use the "cool box" you will need to ask them to remove the mini bar stuff. Its a good thing to do anyway as it reduces the chance of being mistakenly charge for mini bar items
Phxazzcruisers Posted October 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2018 The small refrigerators kept the canned sodas we were given under our package cold. You do not mention your ports, but most ports have free internet available right off the ship. As you said follow the crew or ask when you disembark at the ports. Other questions answered above. 39august Posted October 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2018 We found that the fridges on both our Equinox and Silhoutte cruises kept things nice and cold. We didn't even have to ice down our champagne! Gastropub and casino bar show sports pretty much all day and night. Some sports are also shown on your in room TV. No piano bar, but there is live music in various venues at various times in the evenings. Just look at the schedules in your Today. Typically there will be a jazzy group, a folk type soloist, a duo, and one or two other musical choices.
phoenix_dream Posted October 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2018 If your cruise is going to the ABC islands, you should have no trouble finding internet there. In Curacao, there is good internet at the shopping center right by the pier. There is also good internet downtown in the fast food restaurant area. In Aruba, there is internet at the Renaissance shopping center, and then at the hotel across the street from them. It is likely available other places as well but those are the two areas we usually go to. I would guess any of the hotels with casinos would likely offer it if you are heading off to the beach areas. In Bonaire, I know we found some onshore but can't recall for sure. What other islands are you visiting? Regarding watching your games, keep your fingers crossed. They will sometimes show games in the casino bar area, and there may be a game on the TV in your cabin. But there is no telling which game they will be showing. Very frustrating, I know. oneputt18 Posted October 8, 2018 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Gastro bar is not a true sports bar but has the feeling of one when there is a game on. Ensemble lounge is not a piano bar but has an entertainer nightly. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
