Cabin Question

What does it mean on the Emerald Princess when it says

Quad Cabin.  2 Uppers

Quad means capable of 4 people in the cabin.

Uppers means the 3rd and 4th bed, pull down from the ceiling.

If you only have 2 in the cabin, the "uppers" will not be in evidence....they won't be in your way.

If it is an inside or OV cabin, the bunks will be on the side walls.  EM

Yet again, you are providing information that is not correct.

On a previous cruise on Emerald, we had an Ocean View and the 3rd & 4th bunks were not located in the deckhead. They were attached to the bulkheads and were not flush to the bulkhead. The bunks were hinged and folded up to the bulkhead, so they stuck out about 6" - 8".

As others have stated, the cabin can bed 4. The two "uppers" either fold to the wall or flush into the ceiling. Other than that no difference. There is that outside chance the cruise line would upgrade you to larger cabin should a group of 4 was looking for a booking. Just a possibility that some use as a "strategy" when making reservations.
