twoflyers Posted October 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2018 We've not sailed HAL in a while, but have an Oosterdam cruise scheduled for November. When we sailed with HAL in the past, we loved that they had a section in the Lido buffet area cordoned off that had tablecloths which made for a nice ambiance when one did not want to get dressed up for dinner in the main dining room, but wanted a nice dining experience. Do they still do this??

Rare ski ww Posted October 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2018 You may be thinking about the Canaletto which is located in the Lido area, that is set up with tablecloths. Allan

Do they still do this?? When HAL first announced their "Signature of Excellence Program Numero Uno" in November 2003, it included a casual dinner option with table-side waiter service and tables set with linen inside the Lido Restaurant . It didn't last very long, just over a year or so, at which time casual dinner became a "self-service trip" down the Lido buffet line, as it still is today

Rare *Miss G* Posted October 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 20, 2018 I do recall, intermittently over the years, that the small section across from the Canaletto used to have tablecloths at night. It looked quite nice and I always thought it was for a special function.
