IT Problems All Over

It's not just the cruise lines, it's endemic to the entire web-based IT industry.  The drive is for "newer and better" and "more exciting" content to draw eyes and clicks.

Functionality and testing?  Those are less cared about by management and so, take a back seat to flash.

I work in IT, but more backend systems (though my first positions were waaaaaay back when CompuServe was a new thing and people used modems to actually gasp! book flights themselves!)  Anyway, we still jump through massive hoops to make sure the end users are not adversely impacted by updates.  But we have identical development systems that we can use to thoroughly test.  Which costs money and time and most management just isn't all that interested in spending that kind of money anymore.
