EastBay Cruisers Posted November 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2018 We were on the Emerald to Alaska, and this NCL flew past us. We were sitting at the window in the MDR, and the waiter told us that this NCL ship always runs really fast. -- EBC

Your ship could be moving even faster, but you really do not feel that much. You can EASILY see the movement of the other ship. Said another way. If both ships are moving at exactly 20 knots, then the relative difference between the ships is 40 knots. If your mind can visually see the other ship moving, and fools you into thinking you are barely moving, the perception is the other ship is really moving fast. That would apply if they were going in opposite directions. But these two were both heading the same direction, Royal to FLL and Bliss to MIA. Both in port today. rkacruiser Posted November 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted November 17, 2018 It's always fun to sight another cruise ship near mine. Unless the ship has a distinctive profile, which few do these days, I wonder: who might that be?
