Breakaway - Reserved Show Question

Hi, all!

We reserved tickets for some of the shows on Breakaway for next month (Rock of Ages etc). How exactly does this work? Obviously, you gain entrance to the show but do they assign you a seat? How does it work for people who are "walk ins" as opposed to those who pre-booked?

This isn't our first time on NCL, but it is our first time pre-booking these evening shows. We're mostly just curious about the logistics! ;)

Thanks.

Seats are not assigned. You take any open seat. There is a stand by line for people that didn't reserve seats. They normally seat them about 5-10 minutes before the show for the no shows.

If you have reservations, it is in your onboard record. When  you show up at the Theater, they scan your room key and you will be allowed in. It is like a theater on a small ship. No assigned seats, first come first serve for the "best" seats". People try to hold whole rows of seats for their group. Show up 1/2 hour early for the best seats. There is a section on the port side for Haven guests. Those seats are released just before show time (so if you are desperate for a seat, hang out by the Haven seating until the ropes are dropped).

Standby: If the show is NOT sold out, walk-ins will be allowed to enter the theater when then arrive. If the show is sold out, standbys will be held at the door until 10 minutes prior to show time. Then, they will be allowed in to fill unoccupied seats (i.e., seats that no one else wanted).

It will work the same way for Headliners and the comedy show. Standbys will be allowed in 10 minutes before show time to fill empty seats or stand in back (empty seats = front row seats guaranteed to be picked on by the comedian :) )

When can you make reservations for the headliners and comedy shows. Have made reservations for the other shows, but did not see comedy show listed.

Great question!! I’m not sure, but would be interested to know. We love the comedy shows!

When you board the ship.  You can do it on your television or any of the screens located near the elevators.

You are able to make reservations for Rock of Ages and Burn the Floor online before your cruise.  Comedy shows that are in Headliners it is best to make reservations when you get on the ship.

However we weren’t aware of this and showed up and were directed to the stand by line. We waited about 30 minutes and were then allowed in and we got decent seats.  Let me tell you the man behind using the stand by line was NOT a happy camper. The reservation system was not well publicized.  As far as the touch screens we didn’t attempt using them.  Others reported they didn’t work that well said we just made our show reservations at box office and tweaked our dinner reservations at guest service.

We board sunday and haven’t been able to book ROA yet. Online it just says “Not available to Book”. It does say book on board so I’m hopeful .......but wonder why it isn’t available in advance like it normally is.

Its too close to sailing now and the pre-bookable options are probably sold out.  You will have to book on board.
