I guess we will never really know, but on my last cruise which was very sold right up to sailing I put in near the minimum bid on a Plus Verandah as Platinum and was successful. So perhaps they are applying some kind of matrix. Phil

Rare tonyl1956 Posted May 21 #1230 Share Posted May 21 Hi, We received an offer to bid for upgrades on our cruise recently: Bid Offer date - 15/05/24 Cruise Date - 13/07/24 Cruise Length - 9 nights Loyalty Level - Explorer* Minimum bid required - £160 (Veranda Plus) Amount Bid - No bid Cabin Booked - Veranda (V1) Cruise Region - Mediterranean *Our adult children are new to Azamara and received identical numbers in their offers. For info, a minimum bid for a CC Suite would have been £790, which we could have been tempted by, now that you aren't forced to take an upgrade to an unsuitable (for us) bath cabin, but not this time as we are travelling as a group. All the other options were way out of our comfort zone!

150edmiston Posted June 21 #1237 Share Posted June 21 We're back with AZ after trying Oceania, and a few land trips over the last couple of years. We're on a 7 night Greek island trip in Sept that we managed to secure on the category upgrade offer last year....inside > balcony which we took up, and applied 20% loyalty as status cruisers with AZ. Anyway it ended up as £1291 pp which is a great price. We've been upgraded once from balcony (V1 to Continental suite) without asking...once in 11 years and 7 cruises. Last week, we recieved an email from AZ offering a bidding upgrade opportunity. We went for it, at the lowest for a CC suite at £390 pp. If we get one, its a steal for what we've paid IMO. Will let you know how it goes.David (not hopeful tbh).

Xcelsior Posted June 29 #1240 Share Posted June 29 Is there a chance that I will have an opportunity to bid on a Club Continent Suite if I am booked in an Oceanview stateroom - or will it just offer me a veranda and veranda plus bidding upgrade? Thank you. Pre pandemic in 2019 I had booked an OV and was able to bid all the way up to a CC suite, and then post pandemic before the IT changes it was also the same....but wondered if it had changed as I didn't see anyone on the bidding sheet saying they had bit up to a suite from an OV.

Mrs Miggins Posted July 16 #1246 Share Posted July 16 Do I wait to be invited to bid - as in the past ? Our cruise is end of September. I asked Azamara UK today and was told that I could place a bid online via the website. Indeed I found a form but it did not recognise my booking reference or name. Its not unusual for the website to be uncooperative so do I assume that all recent upgrades have been as a result of an invitation to bid from Azamara. tgg Posted July 17 #1250 Share Posted July 17 If the upgrade process was transparent, I'm thinking that the people who cruise frequently with Azamara would be able to clarify how it works. That doesn't seems to be the case. The process seems opaque. Perhaps the person/people who are posting as AZAMARA NOW would like to lay it out for us all.
