SheriAZ Posted May 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Where are the high demand chairs? Next to the pool? Sunny or shady area? Just curious, I live in the Phoenix area so being in the sun is not a treat.
Corby114 Posted May 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Any chair or lounger near the pool is considered a high chair hog area. The further away from the pool the threat area is lower.
denmarks Posted May 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Half the people want the sun and the other half the shade. All chairs around the pool are desirable.
Husky61 Posted May 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Interesting preferences. We actually don't want to sit around the pool with the herd.😃
MCC retired Posted May 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Looking down from the deck above , chairs lined up elbow to elbow around the pool remind me of Times Square on New Years Eve . Little breeze if any. Sun and Shade Found elsewhere as chairs do move .
cb at sea Posted May 19, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 19, 2019 The ones right around the pool seem to be coveted...even tho they are so close together, you must access them by crawling from the foot of the chair to get in it. We prefer to be up a deck level, where the chairs are more widely spaced...and you have some actual room to access the SIDE of the chair! It's not a big deal to walk down the stairs to take a dip! Corby114 Posted May 20, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 20, 2019 The worse chair hogs are passengers who save seats in both the shady and sunny areas.Last time I witnessed this type of behavior was on the January 2017 sailing of the Allure Of The Seas. A family saved four loungers near the Solarium Bar for shade and another four loungers closer to the pool for sun. Only one woman went back and forth, saving the other six seats for family members. RICKnVICK Posted May 20, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 20, 2019 I personally like getting a chair on the deck above the pool. It seems cooler there and you can still see and enjoy everything! leaving in 4 days! UGH! cannot wait! Vicki

I always get a lounger no matter the time a day I get up there. Turn the lounger around and look out at the water while enjoying the sun and my BP. cruisegal40 Posted May 20, 2019 #12 Share Posted May 20, 2019 We always go up a deck. We are out there early and can move other loungers down and away from us so we have more room. And yes. We stay in them all day long except for quick lunch. (and bathroom breaks)
Luckiestmanonearth Posted May 21, 2019 #13 Share Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) Not sure about chair hogs but the “chair bullies” that decide to get their butts out of bed at noon see to want to bully their way into the poolside loungers the most Edited May 21, 2019 by Luckiestmanonearth
ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted May 28, 2019 #14 Share Posted May 28, 2019 Not interested in being by the pool. Lounge chairs are everywhere all over the ship. Typically saving chairs are frowned upon by the cruise line. No matter. people do that. if i recall there is a time limit for how long you can leave things on your lounge chair by the pool and have it vacant. I have seen crew members removing articles to make that lounge chair available. FYI. By far the worst place for chair saving. Is the theater. And worse than chair saving is all the A holes who keep their phone/camera up in the air during show and ruin the view of those behind them. There are inconsiderate jerks everywhere. If the kid is interested in the show find something else somewhere else for it to do.
