Congratulations on getting your certificates for crossing the Arctic Circle and becoming a Blue Nose. We were on an NCL cross many years ago when we crossed the Arctic Circle -- got nothing.

Wonderful reports -- pictures and videos are still great.

Thank you , we think that's one of the differences that sets HAL apart . The newer NCL ships are just too big and busy for our tastes .

I loved listening to the captain talk! While going to get on a tender at Lerwick, he was standing at the top of the stairs and I had an opportunity to chat with him. I wanted to chat with him longer but I figured the people behind me would push me down the steps!

Krazy Kruizers, thanks for your kind words. Yes, I've taken several cruises with dear friends/family since his death, but, as you can imagine, it's not the same.

We did here him several times a day , and saw him several times on shore when we were getting off the ship . Seems to be a very nice and competent man . Here's another announcement made during final boarding :

We walked around the car park and down to the beach

Chris told us that he drove some people around when Amazing Race was filmed here ( Episode 3 Season 25 ) . This is one of our favorite shows , both to see places where we have been and places we may like to go to . Here's a spoiler link or better , you can watch it on TV or online .

I don't think that it was shown on TV but he said that they slept in tents on this beach .

Yes ! I've been blessed growing up diving and surfing in South Florida especially many years ago in Miami when the water was more clear and a lot fewer people lived there . We're fortunate to live about an hour from Ft. Lauderdale and have been able to book some last minute " dive cruises " at a good price . Our first HAL cruise was one such cruise .

We left the Margaritaville crowd to go diving and have a quite lunch .

We did make a last stop for fish and chips which we ate overlooking the ferry terminal . Chris did a very good job and we would recommend him .

When NCL went to Freestyle cruising, we left them.

We went on the old NCL Dream mainly for it's itinerary . 2006 was our first Baltic out of the beautiful Port of Dover

And 2007 we went to Glacier Alley in Chile .
