Thanks so much for the review --- you guys are experts on the food, drinks, and apparently the casino too!   Glad to hear it was a good almost week away

You’re very welcome!  Wish we were better experts at the casino part. If so we would walk away with $$ and not just an opportunity to donate more $$$ during our next “free” cruise. 😁

Lisalk12,  I think I may know you in real life.  We may have gone to Kiamichi together when we were young.  Good to see a fellow cruise addict from my town.

Wow!  I’ve met lots of CC’ers from OK just no one from our hometown!  It’s wonderful to see you here. Need to cruise again soon. This heat without a beach nearby is not my idea of fun!!

So at 11:02 we found our favorite bartender Winston (in the Solarium  Bar) and we began to work our way through the bar menu. The menu is limited due to being in Texas waters. But it was perfectly good enough for us.

Lisa, my fellow Okie!  So, it sounds like you kept the drink package, correct?  Were you able to use it immediately when you boarded the ship?  We purchased it for our upcoming cruise but wasn't sure if it could be used while in Texas.  I know with Carnival, they won't even sell the drink package until your second day, but RCCL charged for all days, that's why I was wondering!

Hello!  Lots of Okies out there!  Yes, luckily we kept the drink  package. For us the price point to cut even was 5 drinks a day. When we started at breakfast and added bottled water and specialty coffee in to the mix we hit that mark EASILY!

With RCCL they will serve drinks and accept the drink package from the moment you walk on the boat in TX. The menu was just a bit limited. Once we were out in international waters all of the liquor was brought out and new lengthy menus were out at bars. I would say that was a couple hours after sailaway. (But I could be off on the time).

Thank you for review. We've only done carnival but since we live in Houston want to try RCL and start with a 5 day.

So happy you enjoyed the review. If we lived in Houston we would be on a boat/ship all the time!  Love the water. Hope your RCL trip is an amazing one.

Thanks for doing this review.  It is making me more excited about our April 2020 cruise on the Enchantment!  We were on the Carnival Vista for the Propulsion challenged cruise and went to Maya Chan on Jul 5.  After a few minutes on the beach I went in search of their new pool.  The new, cushioned loungers and no seaweed smell had me staking out our chairs for the day.  We loved the food and service and had a wonderful day there.  Sadly, hubby does not want to return when we are there on our RCCL cruise.  He did not like being so far from the port and hated the bumpy ride both ways.  So, now I have to find something else to do.😥

My husband and I are both Gluten Free, so I appreciated seeing what they had to offer.  We will have a very different cruise than you had because we might or might not have 1 drink a day.

Didn’t get a chance to go to the pool!  I’ll have to go back just to tryout the pool!  The distance from the port didn’t bother me. But the road was VERY bumpy and the length of walk to get through the port was rather long.

It is exciting to see what is happening with GF options now. I do enjoy cruising for the yummy food... and the 🍹!  Wishing you the best on your next voyage.

Thanks for the great review. Wife and I have a trip booked on the Liberty in Oct. This due to our Cuba cruise being cancelled

Just paid the deposit to add 5 day cruise in March 2020, due to your review.

Thanks again.

Thanks so much for doing this.

I'm a fan of photo heavy, day by day reviews.  Thank you!

I have an upcoming cruise on Enchantment, and I'm super eager to hear  your thoughts.

Hello old friend! ….. when do you sail on Enchantment? We sail her next July! Wouldn't it be a hoot if we were on the same sailing? We're doing 7 nts to Key West, Coco Cay & Nassau!!

Fun review! Thanks! LUCKY YOU, you got to sail FREE!!!

We sail on the Enchantment next July (7 nts) ….

I saw on the drinks menus that most were $13..... the drink package says drinks up to $12...did you have to pay the upcharge?

I am GF myself & never have issues with finding GF items in the WJ or the MDR. They will also make you GF pizza & pasta if you ask.

Just FYI.... if you aren't happy with your dinner assignment...you can go to the kiosk on day 1 & change it... table for two, MTD vs Traditional.... also if you choose MTD, you can reserve your times either online before you sail or at the beginning of the cruise or daily....

They do have a channel on the TV that shows the front of the ship...it rotates to the current location map & back every minute or so... it plays soft music.

Where is that little cruise grocery store you visited pre-cruise? I have heard of it, but have never seen it.

Royal doesn't do towel animals every night like they used to. 😞 However when we sail with our grandkids...they usually do make them for the kids every night.

The outside of the ship does look pretty rough to me ….looks like a LOT of rust. 😞 Not up to Royal's standards.

Thanks again & hope you sail Royal more!

Yes you can use it immediately....but they limit you to only Texas bought alcohol until about an hour after sailing (they have to get out of Texas waters).... plenty of options tho.

Lynn we're going on Enchantment this year.    We're off to Europe next summer --- but have been eyeing the bahamas route out of New Orleans.

Ahhh! I was hoping! Be sure to tell us how you liked the Enchantment...she’s small like the Vision. So I guess you like her! We stumbled on (while on the Vision with y’all)  a one off 7 niter next July on Enchantment... the kids booked it too.... so we’re getting away from the oh so repetitive ports that Royal sails to from Galveston. The kids can’t afford to fly, so anytime we can get a different itinerary from Galveston we’re gonna grab it! Do wish it were on the Liberty tho! Enjoy your upcoming cruises & hope we sail together again sometime!

Thanks for the tips!!! For us Free=prepaid in our casino. But we enjoy cruising and the casino so it is a win/win for us... even if we lose a few $. Just got a flyer from RC for another trip on Spring Break. So I’m trying to talk my husband into trying Navigator of the Seas.

We were never charged the extra $ for any drink that we had onboard. Not sure if they changed up the liquor quality to make it ring in under the $12 or just called it good.

Did have the pasta one night and it was yummy. They said they would make me a pizza but I don’t eat a lot of pizza due to GF crust plus no cheese is usually not very yummy. And I really had so many options I didn’t feel like I needed one.

The little Cruise shop is one block over from the cruise port right by the walkway with the parking garage. (I’m terrible with directions hope that helps)

i think from previous reviews I was thinking she would look like a ugly tugboat that’s been through a hurricane. While we noticed the rust and age it wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be.

I remember you found that deal!    Sounds like it will be great.  We knew we'd be in Europe in July.

We have Adventure booked for next fall though if you guys are interested. 🙂
