Wisjon Posted July 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2019 Need advice on transfer from Rhapsody to Brilliance in Tampa. Rhapsody arriving 7am, Brilliance departing 4 pm. How do you arrange help with luggage?
Rare mom says Posted July 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2019 Royal Caribbean, right? You might get more by posting on that forum:. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/51-royal-caribbean-international/ I believe one ship will be at terminal 3, the other at terminal 6 ( check the Tampa port schedule). Google Earth shows that it's not a very pedestrian friendly walk, so I'd just grab a taxi.
Capt_BJ Posted July 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) sadly, you ARE in a quandary offer a porter a BIG tip! Edited July 20, 2019 by Capt_BJ
leaveitallbehind Posted July 20, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2019 (edited) They are separate terminals, so you will need to disembark, clear customs, and collect your luggage for Rhapsody, then arrange transportation - although the terminals are close - to assist with your luggage (Taxi / Uber) to get to Brilliance and check in there, where those porters will handle your luggage for that ship. You will have plenty of time to do so as you will need to be off Rhapsody by 9:30 or so and boarding will commence with Brilliance around 11:00, with you needing to be on board not later than 2:30 with Brilliance. JimnKaren Posted July 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2019 And once you drop off your luggage, kill some time at the Florida Aquarium. Right there. Wonderful place to visit for 5 hours or so. There is a restaurant inside. Jim

gadaboutgal Posted July 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2019 We've done it several times in the past. Easy to get a porter with an offer of a large tip; it's an easy, pleasant walk to the second terminal.

steve20832 Posted July 22, 2019 #11 Share Posted July 22, 2019 Piers 3 and 6 are next to each other. The walk is less than the length of a cruise ship. You will have a few hours to kill, Channelside area is safe and has some interesting shops

gadaboutgal Posted July 23, 2019 #13 Share Posted July 23, 2019 A brief walk outside the terminal door to the sidewalk on Channelside Drive, then you are in front of the Aquarium, about another 30 feet and you turn to your right and walk down the entrance to the second terminal. You are on Channelside very briefly. We are older than 70 and found the walk to be very easy. Tampa terminals are the easiest to get around and between in all of Florida. Once you check in luggage at Terminal 3, a quick walk back to see the Aquarium or you might even catch the Teco trolley for an interesting morning.(see: http://www.tecolinestreetcar.org/#/home)
