Deposit required at launch

Does anyone know what deposit will likely to be for the launch of the new summer season?

 

will it be a set percentage or a nominal amount?

Hopefully it will be a reduced rate of 5% like it was last year.

I'd guess at the same 5% as last year. A lot of uncertainty caused by Brexit hitting holiday bookings and not a lot of money.

Princess have been offering £1 deposit, I wonder if P&O would follow suit?

5% is more likely.

Princess was only for 1 day (+1 for top tier loyalty)

I’ve booked with them for 2021 but doubt I’ll continue with the trip - depends what else becomes available when other lines release their brochures.  It’s so easy to book at £1 but then cancel

I wonder how this works for the cruise lines?  I guess it’s overall positive, otherwise they wouldn’t do it but ...

Last year for a 19 night cruise the deposit was £100  It was of the reasons we booked early.  The only 5% I remember was the reduction for past cruisers.

Maybe that was because £100 represented 5% of your cruise fare?  Because for our 2 cruises booked last September we paid a 5% deposit on both.

We paid 5% deposit on our cruises booked last september too and have very recently paid a 5% deposit on one of the new Oceana cruises.I suspect P and O will offer the same low deposit again to encourage early booking.

Im sure we normally know by now! 

Must be because they’re busy sorting out the new Oceana cruises!

If memory serves it’s normally mid September.

Last year the launch date for Caribbean tier was 17th Sept., and we had had made our pre registration booking by 7th Sept with our TA; so we should know something this next week.

Quite right, £100 would not be enough for our deposit.  It was of course 5% instead of 15%.  Our deposit on £3076 was £154.    My mistake.
