xbatt8 Posted August 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2019 This is news to me, so I have a few questions for anyone who has been. What days is it offered? What hours? Do you have a copy or picture of the menu? Heard about this this on a YouTube video from July. I’m hoping it wasn’t just a one time shot on that particular cruise... sanmarcosman Posted August 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) This could be another revenue stream on sea days. Your choice of lobster or freshly cracked Chesapeake Bay blue fin crab omelets on the menu could be worth a price. " Steakhouse Brunch " has a nice ring to it too. Hey, why not port days too? I'm sure Carnival would be glad to see passengers pay to eat onboard, rather than onshore. Some shore excursions end early, and some port days don't start until after 12:00 PM. Which means brunch time. Plus, it'll give people a quiet, intimate venue to eat in on port days. After all, the MDR is closed, the buffet isn't quiet or intimate, and not all ships have Cucina del Capitano or Jiji's Asian Kitchen with free lunch offerings. (While all except Fantasy class have the Steakhouse.) Charge $20 or $25 for it. It'll bring it revenue from people who gun-shy about spending $38 for dinner. Plus, if Carnival can extract additional revenue using only existing infrastructure, it'll be more willing to provide additional free offerings as well, as opposed to making cutback after cutback. The new Port Day menu is served in the MDR and it's being well reviewed. We liked it nearly as well as the sea day brunch menu. My point is the MDR is open on port days and opens early for those going on excursions. Lunch is another matter as you say. I'm sure if brunch is served in the Steakhouse on port days (as well as sea days), people would go. Cucina and Jiji's are open for lunch on port days (I think) and they're free, so why not have the Steakhouse open for brunch and make money off it? " Personally, I think offering Steakhouse Brunch 7 days a week would remove some of the distinctiveness of the event. I like to think of brunch as just that, an event where we relax and are in no hurry. Utilizing the Steakhouse away from the madding crowds would lend cachet to the atmosphere. Plus if I worked in the steakhouse I might enjoy sleeping in on port days because I just finished my dinner shift there the night before. 🙂 Edited August 31, 2019 by sanmarcosman
coevan Posted September 1, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2019 I wish they had any sit down breakfast served after 9am. We either endure the buffet or eat breakfast ashore.

NCTribeFan Posted September 1, 2019 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Sounds and looks fab. I'll be on Legend for the final Med/TA B2B next October for 25 days. I could end up spending as much on steakhouse brunch as I will in the casino! 😄 Maybe wait until very late in the TA to try it so that I won't let myself go every time it's offered!! 1

OnePsychLynne Posted September 11, 2019 #16 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Omg that sounds amazing! Crazy excited that it's on the Legend since we're cruising her on October 27th. And I LOVE Portman lol. She looks just like my Tori
Ellusionz Posted September 11, 2019 #17 Share Posted September 11, 2019 They prolly won't do too many port things due to staffing since thats times staff can do things off ship too, dunno how the scheduling goes.
Ak4n3 Posted September 11, 2019 #18 Share Posted September 11, 2019 They offered the brunch with a view on the Legend last week when we were cruising thru Tracy Arm Fjord (August 29th) . We didn't go because we have a small boat excursion to see the Sawyer glaciers up close.

Doctorsbaby Posted October 9, 2019 #21 Share Posted October 9, 2019 I wonder if this is specific to the Alaska sailings, since it’s specifically mentioning a “view”?
