What are things you can ask of room steward (NOT IN HAVEN)

I always get the mini fridge emptied so I can keep it stocked with water (I can get free bottled water at the casino bar).  I never knew I could ask for a coffee maker.  Appreciate that tip.  Definitely doing that on my next cruise.

Its funny how little things can make a big difference.  I also consider this a game changer.  I'm on deck 5 on the breakaway on my next trip (same deck as my last cruise), and there are mornings when I just want a cup of coffee.  This will beat going up to 14 to the buffet for a little tea cup of coffee

Yup.  100% the best way to start a day.  Get coffee, juice, pastries and fruit delivered, so you can munch on them while showering/getting ready, and then head down to the MDR for a proper breakfast with mimosas.

What has been your experience with the wait time?  I guess you can probably also order the night before and specify a delivery time

That's exactly how you do it.  They have a card that you hang on the outside of your door with your order and delivery time.  It works great as a wake-up call too.

Nothing quite like getting woken up by somebody bringing you coffee and croissants. 😃

If you bring bottles of wine onboard ($15 "corkage" fee at boarding), you can ask your steward for wine glasses and a bottle opener. The opener usually has the NCL logo on it and makes a nice souvenir (we have offered it back to the steward before, who told us to keep it).

Regarding the tip left at the end of the cruise, does the steward get part of the room gratuities and what you leave in the cabin is above that, or do you leave a full tip for them?

I always look for my room steward the first day, introduce myself and tip him $20 while requesting ice every night.... I then might ask for something else the next day (mattress topper if bed is too hard) and tip more at the end of the cruise.

Your cabin attendant shares in the DSC. Anything you are kind enough to give him or her directly is on top of that.

The bottled water in the casino... Is that for everyone or just ppl who gamble a lot?

you have to have a casino drink card, which does require a lot of gambling if you earn the card thru the cruise ship casino.  the other way to get the drink card (which I use) is to book your cruise thru a land based casino.  You get a drink card thu this booking.  Yes, you can to be a player with that land based casino, but you have to break the bank to earn the comped cruise

I appreciate the info. I'm not much of a gambler but live in Detroit, where we have three casinos.
