Are FCDs reinstated if a cruise is cancelled

If you made a deposit using an FCD, the cruise has a refundable deposit, and you cancel before final payment date, then the FCD is redeposited into your Captain's Circle account for future use. If the cruise had a nonrefundable deposit you risk losing it if cancelled.

Did ya call Princess?

This is what cruise boards are for - to ask questions. I am sure there are plenty of people here who can answer. No need to bother phone reps.

There is an exception to the above.  If you have booked a World Cruise (WC) or a WC segment with a FCD, the deposit is cashed in by Princess and applied to the booking.  In lieu of the normal OBC perk, you get 3% off the cruise fare.  Cancelling the booking gets you the cash back, but the FCD is not restored as it was cashed out.
